This is such a great neighborhood spot. They have an awesome happy hour with great food and drink deals--my partner come here for dinner pretty often! The service has always been really great, too--everyone is super nice and friendly.
Bar Elena is the ideal neighborhood spot for a casual drink and some bar bites. Located on H Street at the intersection of 5th and H, the restaurant/bar is large on the inside and has plenty of seating at both the bar and regular tables. After ordering at the bar, a friend and I sat at a table towards the back and waited mere minutes for our drinks to arrive. The drinks were good but the food was even better. It's a simple neighborhood spot, with exposed brick, sports on the TV and a stylish but unpretentious vibe. The menu is very simple bar foods, like nachos, quesadilla and some salad options. They had options for mocktails and non alcoholic beer which I really appreciated during dry January. The bartender was a little distracted by the rowdy party next to us, so wasn't top notch but I think it'd be better on other occasions.
