5 star experience. Gorgeous atmosphere. Beautiful bar. Lovely impeccable service. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had two glasses of brut rose burgundy and 2 glasses of Pinot noir excellent selections. The bread was so fresh w whipped butter. For appetizers we had the cauliflower Qatar and Tahitian tuna. Incredible. The vegetarian pasta bolognese was so tasty. Incredible experience.

My friend and I recently had dinner at this fairly new restaurant, and there were several things we truly enjoyed. The food was excellent — well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The service throughout the meal was also warm, attentive, and professional.
However, where the experience fell short was the strict two-hour dining limit. We had a 5:30pm reservation and were essentially asked to leave at 7:30pm on the dot. Having worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for 20 years, I fully understand the importance of table turn times, especially for busy establishments. That said, being rushed out felt unnecessary and disappointing, particularly because there were multiple empty tables around us and no guests visibly waiting to be seated.
It was a Saturday night in downtown DC — not exactly a night known for long lines or overwhelming walk-in traffic — so enforcing the policy so rigidly, despite the lack of demand, didn’t make much sense. It cut our evening short and prevented us from ordering additional drinks, which we absolutely would have done had we not been asked to leave.
Policies are important, but so is reading the room. When there’s no backup of reservations and no one waiting to dine, enforcing a hard stop at exactly two hours diminishes the guest experience.Inflexible time limit left a negative impression.

Barbouzard Restaurant is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, and the service is truly exceptional. The owner, Nasr, is incredibly nice, charming, and goes above and beyond to make every guest feel special. I celebrated my birthday there, and he and his team gave us such wonderful VIP treatment — everything was perfect! The food was delicious kudos to Chef Cedric he is a legend. The staff was warm and attentive, and thanks to whole Barbouzard team I had so many unforgettable moments with my friends. Definitely a 5-star experience I highly recommend!

Barbouzard is dignified dining. We’ve all been to ostensibly premium restaurants where any given evening is defiled by individuals in flip flops and graphic t-shirts. Because Barbouzard has the courage to enforce a reasonable dress code, you simply never need to worry about this. You can trust that the (excellent) food and service will be matched by an elevated atmosphere and respectful guests. Perfect for dates, special occasions, and all those yearning for a refined dining experience.

We were so looking forward to having dinner here tonight. From the minute we walked in, I felt comfortable in this chic atmosphere. We ordered cocktails and the chilled seafood platter. So refreshing. My completely deboned whole branzino was served with a herb sauce that complimented the delicate fish perfectly. The crème brûlée was perfect along with the chocolate nocturne. I finished with the perfect cappuccino and port. The wait staff is so skilled and knowledgeable. This is the type of restaurant to which you can’t wait to return. Thank you!

Every dish was perfectly executed and beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The menu strikes a great balance between creativity and comfort, and each plate felt like a thoughtful experience rather than just a meal. The cocktails and wine pairings were also top-notch.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails both the food and the service so consistently, but Barbouzard does exactly that. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in D.C.!
