I’ve been a long-time fan of the Beau Thai location in Shaw, and their Mount Pleasant outpost is just as delightful. I visited this location for a Thursday night dinner with a few friends, and we had a wonderful time. There were quite a few other parties there, but the space is quite large so it didn’t feel overly crowded or loud. A good, reliable, local spot for Thai food.

I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered and thought they were good value, with some areas for improvement. The shrimp cakes were freshly fried but a bit bland, the Penang curry was extremely flavorful but I would have liked some more vegetables, and the drunken noodles had nice fresh wide rice noodles and a good spice level, but the beef was overcooked and tough.

A Mount Pleasant main street classic! Delicious pad Thai, good service, lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. They also do watercolor date nights at the bar which sounds very cute! The one thing that we were less impressed by on our recent visit were the cocktails, which were supposed to be all these interesting flavors but tasted really bland (except for the mocktail we ordered, which was actually delicious!).
