Great piece of DC history! Definitely will fill you up! Great food and fast service! Will be back!! Get the half smokes Ben’s way you won’t be disappointed. It is a little pricey but worth it.

It was so much fun to visit Ben's during our trip to D.C. for the cherry blossoms, and the food was outstanding. It's a must-visit cultural institution, especially if you're interested in Black history, celebrity, and politics in the District.
Best chili dog ever.
It’s in my belly.
The smoked sausage 🌭 was not good. Cheep sausage.

Here got fries questionable chili and nacho cheese we then proceed to wait for 30 minutes or bring our food and then they get it wrong proceeding to get mad at us then when the food does arrive, I have a turkey dog and it genuinely taste like rubber and garbage it tastes like the veggie dog so I’m not 100% sure that you even got my order right again then I turned back to the fries and dip one in the chili which now has a film over it also, the drink machine was almost broken safe to say I will never recommend this place to anyone. Also I don’t think the bathroom door locks

One morning to check ben's chili bowl out for some time now. I finally got the chance this weekend as my friend was in from Chicago, and he looked up where to get the best hot dog in DC.And ben's chili bowl was it! We each got a half smoke, with chili cheese mustard in onions. It was really good. I was in love with the cheese as i'm picky about that type of melted cheese. This was\ really good.
We also got a little container of potato saland my friend's wife got a slice of cake. The potato salad was pretty good but the cake was not good at all.
Service was awesome. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and helpful.
I LOVE, LOVE,F LOVED the atmosphere and the inside the way it was set up and the decorations. I had originally heard of ben's chili bowl when I lived just a block down the road from this location.
Then my son in law saw it on TV and told me about it. I included a picture of all the awards they have won for their food as well!

Finally went to famous Ben’s chilling and hotdog food was fresh and very nice atmosphere had a half smoked hotdogs family members had big Ben burgers. This was a different experience. I’m used to Callahan hot dogs in New Jersey, so it was a nice change.

Google Washington Post's Tom Sietsema's review. About sums it up.
Definitely skip the half smoke altogether. Maybe get the chili burger instead.

I am at Reagan Airport in Washington DC. Ordered a big bowl of chili and a grilled cheese sandwich. Took two bites of the chili and couldn’t eat anymore. It was so salty and when I told the gentleman behind the counter he just smiled. My 9 year grandson can make a better grilled cheese sandwich. Good lord people how did you survive since 1958??
