Our experience after graduation was TRASH!! We originally had a reservation for 20. But were missing 3 people so we made additional reservations for 5-5&7. The restaurant was empty with the exception of the bar. The waitress refused to allow us to sit together but still charged us gratuity as if we were a large group. My son never even ordered a drink or food. He ended up leaving, going to eat and coming back. WE WERE STILL WAITING ON OUR FOOD!! My husband canceled his order and ate next door. My daughter ordered a mocktail and received it when it was time to leave. I feel like our waitress was new and was done a disservice by having to deal with us as a large group when clearly us being seated together said differently.

Came in on Sunday. The food and mimosas were good but we couldn’t ever find our server and no one else we asked for help seemed able to help another server’s table. Eventually I found our server in the downstairs restroom getting off of his knees and coming out of a stall with another man. Didn’t even wash his hands before going back upstairs. When I finished using the restroom and returned to my table, he was there clearing dishes. I told my homegirl not to order anything else and asked him to send a manager over. 20 mins later he came back and said the manager is too busy but he can take a message, so I just paid and left. I already disputed the transaction from my credit card since I couldn’t get a manager on the phone at all yesterday. The food was good, the place is cute but not when those are the types of people handling it. There are too many sicknesses and illnesses going around for something as disgusting as that to happen in a food establishment. I wish I could’ve spoken to a manager instead of Google but I guess it wasn’t important enough.

I visited Ben’s Next Door yesterday evening for happy hour and was very disappointed. I ordered the crab deviled eggs and was surprised to receive only one egg split in half. My blackened chicken sandwich turned out to be a small slider, and I received just five wings. Along with these, I ordered two drinks.
To make a long story short, my bill came out to around $50–$60, which felt overpriced for the small portions I received. It seems like they are cutting costs by serving reduced portions during happy hour. While I enjoyed the vibe of the establishment, I wouldn’t return for happy hour, as it doesn’t feel like a good value. In the future, I’d prefer to order from the regular menu to get a fair portion for the price.

Lovely environment, very friendly and fast service. Food was uninspired. Had the Happy Hour wings which were advertised at $5 but was charged $8.95. Whatever. Mistakes happen. Black & Bleu Burger was two thin patties with some Bleu cheese crumbles. Honestly subpar and dry. Ample amount of French fries included which were good. I'd go back again but won't order the same items.

A must for Jazz history buffs.This was called The Music Box in the late 30's and Jelly Roll Morton was the Manager and piano player. All of the Allen Lomax Library of Congress recordings of him were taped in here. Go feel the vibe.
