We had a fantastic dinner at Bidwell. Their charcoal-dough pizza was the standout — delightfully crisp with a deep, smoky flavor. Both the vegetarian and meat options were excellent, thoughtfully prepared, and generously topped. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed evening with friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for creative, delicious pizza in the area.

Had not been to Union market. Decided to try Bidwell for lunch as it offered comfy and quiet seating. Menu looked intriguing. Liz was our server on a late Wed afternoon. The place was not busy. Eventually, Liz sauntered over to take our order. We decided on two pizzas. One with charcoal crust. Another with veggie crust. Ice tea was easy to order. My Mom wanted a cocktail that’s not typical. At first she was told no, they don’t have amaretto (what’s that she asked). Then came back saying had something similar. Pizzas arrived. We were sat at a small two top table by window. Odd, no room on very small table. and this place had lots of other tables available. Alas.. hold your plate in your lap to eat. Liz never came back. Now, she’s bartending? Flirting and taking with all the people over there. And if is was the bartender, she doesn’t know how to make drinks or what’s stocked behind the bar. No drink refill offer. I had to get up to get a box. Mind you. The bar area is right in front of our table! Charcoal pizza was terrific. But not worthy enough to come back just to have again. That veggie crusted thing called a pizza was beyond nasty. And we like cauliflower crust and other non- gluten pizzas. Had to go back to bar to get check and pay. Liz wasn’t even bothered that her guest had to find her. Other people that I guess do work there as I saw many walking around and looking busy. So, why did she need to be behind the bar ignoring the floor? So, it’s a comfy place to grab a beer. Ideally at the bar if you value your time.

My friend and I had a rough experience at this restaurant. They need to work on a few things with customer service. And the food had issues.The calimari had several pieces that were too chewy to eat. We ordered a pizza that had a hair baked into it. My friend never got the salad she ordered (it wasn't on the bill , totally forgotten). We were very gracious, telling them that we'd keep the pizza (minus that piece) since we had eaten the rest mostly already. I assumed the pizza would be removed from the bill. A couple of problems in how it was handled...A manager never showed up. When I asked about them and whether they were busy (I know managers end up on the line or covering other things at times) I was told they weren't. I told the server it was disappointing they never came to handle it and had tasked them as the middle man in how it was handled. The solution was a few bucks off the pizza and free dessert. We assumed it was free dessert for us both but then got charged for one of the desserts which I ended up getting removed. But we had to pay full price for the pizza with that option. I didn't even want dessert so it was annoying. It was awkward and unnecessary back and forth that should have been avoided. We also had to wait for quite a while between each interaction. Finally, after we paid and left, while waiting for an Uber, the manager runs out to apologize. At that point it was too little, too late. I was visiting from out of town and would have appreciated the full pizza being taken off or an entire new one being brought out. Don't offer dessert with two menus being placed down and then spring the bill with only one taken off.

Would recommend eating somewhere else in Union Market. This place has the fact that it’s the only sit down restaurant there going for it.
A few vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the roasted vegetables plate. Does come with a sizable portion. Unfortunately everything was mushy and tasted like it had been boiled in plain water for hours and then microwaved. Quite disappointing for $24.
Caesar salad had a very off putting taste to it.
Ended up leaving hungrier than when we came in.

Absolutely loved our experience at Boswell Restaurant! We had a large group of 20–25 people, and the staff handled everything with ease and warmth. A huge shoutout to bartenders Sam and Gilligan — they were incredible! Super friendly, professional, and kept the drinks flowing with great energy and top-quality cocktails all night long. They made everyone feel welcome and taken care of.
The rest of the staff was just as helpful and kind, making our time there even more enjoyable. Pro tip: if you order the calamari, ask for it to be cooked well done — crispy perfection!
