Some food is good but I got the burger today and it wasn’t good. Brioche bun was kinda dry also. Cheese is an extra $1. Charging extra for fries is crazy. Bf got the spring salad and the corn in it is horrible.

Good atmosphere. Chewy calamari and the pizza was pretty oily.

Automatically added a 20% tip onto my bill, but didn’t explain that so I accidentally tipped on top of it. Also requests that we bus our own tables.

We got pizza and wine here and this place is so close to a 5. They just need a fly trap in the patio, please!! The vines cover everything, cute lights, great vibes.. but I guess the flies thought so too. We got the sopressata pizza and it was really good, especially the crust. Please get a fly trap and we will come back.

Came across this cafe by chance a few weeks back for the bestttt coffee I’ve had in DC for a long time. Tried to find it again but it didn’t seem to pop up in google maps when simply searching for coffee. (As it does so much more than just coffee).

Luckily 1 previous google review of the cafe mentioned the word coffee… soooo, just for any fellow travellers in DC looking for a decent coffee, head here…

Coffee, coffee, coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, coffee, macchiato, coffee, coffee, COFFEE. :)

I really wanted to love this place, it’s a truly beautiful building and has a nice vibe. I think it’s just kind of confusing, a cafe, bar, restaurant? Pick one. I think this place would just be a cool late night coffee spot with Jazz playing and just lean in to that. Maybe add some board games. Everyone in the place was just looking for a place to do their homework or hangout with there family. Idk I think they are just missing the market. Plus the staff just lacks hospitality, coffee was mid, and THEY TURN THERE WI-FI OFF AFTER 3 P.M. Just strange IMO

Unfortunately, the coffee and food is lackluster and overpriced. I work a few blocks away and frequent this establishment on a weekly basis. However, after today’s visit (08/15/2024), I will no longer be a Big Bear customer. I ordered a coffee and sandwich which totaled $23.56. I wanted to pay in cash but the cashier stated that they accept cash but don’t get patrons change. I only had a $10 and $20 dollar bill and was forced to use a different payment option instead. This is inequitable to people who solely use cash for purchases. AND this is an illegal practice. Shame on you Big Bear.

Nice atmosphere for mid over-priced coffee. Unfortunately, there aren’t many options in the neighborhood yet.

Was super excited to try this spot and have to say it’s my least favorite meal I’ve had living in DC. Bun was dry and fell apart, burger tasted so plain, and the fries kept splitting in half with how overcooked (and reheated?) they were. And expensive too!

Lots of flies on the patio but I let them sit all over the meal at this point lol :(
