A true hidden gem. Delicious food and great service. The owner is actively involved in providing service and attending to customers. A must if visiting DC!!

A favorite of mine. Food is always good. Intimate setting off the main street. Been there for years. Nice menu

Had dinner with family while visiting the DC area. The restaurant was perfect from the decor, the seats, the food, the servers. Patricia was amazing and I loved her little soft humming as she went along her way making guests feel welcome. The food was 10+. Highly recommend.

One waitress for entire, filled restaurant. We had 6-person table. Four meals served. Other two not served. We waited for our guests. Four cold meals when other two meals finally served. Waste of money.

The food was good and fresh and the service was excellent. The place was charming but smelled like cat litter.

Our group of 7 picky eaters had the most delicious and memorable dinner at Trattu. The food and service were excellent.... it is a must for a group dinner or romantic dinner for two!♥♥

Nice and quaint with beautiful decor. Our server was very pleasant. It was Valentine's Day and a bit busy but our food took FOREVER and was not especially memorable. Price was very reasonable especially for DC

Giovanni's Trattu is a must for Italian food every time we visit Washington DC. The spaghetti carbonara is my favorite! Service is good and the restaurant feels as authentic as they come.

Always book your appointment in advance for Saturdays! It's our favorite restaurant in DC and love how it's a hole in the wall with authentic Italian food! The owner knows us and greets us. The staff is very kind. The pricing is very reasonable and quality is so high! It's been our go to spot for anniversaries, celebrations or even when friends/family are in town! As a recommendation, I'd love to see authentic Italian pizza added to the menu!

Family style dinner was amazing. Has become a must-eat place each time in DC. The authentic food and care from the staff is unmatched.

It was a wonderful choice for New Year's Eve dinner. We are initially placed at a small table, but after other diners left, they moved us to a much nicer table without us asking them to do so. White staff was very good, but not overbearing, the food was delicious and just what we wanted.

This place might have been amazing at some point but they have given up and are just riding the old days wave. The pastas were mediocre. The mussels were over cooked. The bathrooms were filthy. Doesn't cost a lot of money to put a fresh paint in two small bathrooms every few years. The dust and dirt hadn't been cleaned for so long there's were baked into the wall. The paint was chipping. Could use a refresh and still maintain the quaintness but it's like they just don't care anymore. So many nicer place to eat in Washington and spend your money.

Excellent in every way. I had the delicious fish stew from the menu. My wife had the grouper special. The prices are very good, especially given the high quality of food and service.

My wife and I tried out Giovanni's prior to a show last week. Giovanni's reminded us of being back in some holes in the wall that we've found in NYC. Pros: Our server, Nyla, was very attentive and had great customer service. The gnocchi with meat sauce melted in my mouth and my wife really enjoyed her escargot. Cons: Interior would benefit from updating. Too many servers in masks. Suggestions: Noise dampening; double the wine selection
