Good food and nice people. My order was missing fries, and they threw in a free cherry cheesecake for the wait. The place is a small room, so you will need to eat your food somewhere else though.

I eat from here damn nearly everyday I like everything they make. But those chicken Cobb salads are my favorite. Straight drop everything cooked well done and the presentation is very great

Truly enjoyed finding this spot, the conversation with the owner and the quality of food! Nestled within a part of town not known for many good things this is a hidden gem and community haven. The work that they are doing to support the community is wholesome and awesome in itself.
Now to the food: ordered three orders of wings, two orders of fries, the double burger with cheese, salmon bites, strawberry cheesecake and strawberry lemonade. Everything was very fresh and delicious. One order of wings I saved until later and they heated up very well.
Not only will I be returning and would recommend a 10 out of 10! Try as much as you can from this black owned, women powered and community driven restaurant!

I ordered some food for pick and it was pretty good! The saucey wings were on point and so were the salmon bites. I dig the fries too. I tried one of the burgers too it was overcooked (burgers supposed to be juicy , ya dig). A pretty girl bought me desserts… I’m eating em right now. I dont like the cheese cake but the strawberry shortcake made my fkn mouth water. It was real real good. Good job y’all… if u nail that burger down with a little love, I’ll get ya that last star, ya dig.

This establishment is small. It is an order and take to go spot. It's cute though. We served promptly. Service was outstanding! I even had a laugh with Sheena. LoL! The menu is limited to a few items.
My husband said, "The crab cake is good. It's well seasoned." He compared it to a place we've been going to for over 20 years and he said, "Bird's Kitchen is a very close 2nd." All in all, this is a good food spot.

THE SERVICE THERE IS GREAT!!! FOOD IS EPIC !!!!!!! SALMON BITES ??? ?BURGERS BUSSIN STRAIGHT DROP FRIES ????? DEFINITELY A MUST TRY FOR THE DMV
"Best fries in the city" is what one reviewer said of Bird's Kitchen. Served hot and with crunch, Miss Birdie's fries are darn good. So is her crab cake.
Located in Ward 7's Civic Betterment neighborhood, Bird's Kitchen is worth the drive. Park along the street and walk into the no-frills, takeout-only restaurant. Likely, you'll meet Miss Birdie (the co-owner and chef). Her story is inspiring. (She wants to encourage more foot traffic in the neighborhood.) And her food homemade.
She sells turkey burgers, hamburgers, crab cake with no filling, banana pudding, lemonade. It's all fresh and made to order.
If you're craving home cooking, head to Bird's Kitchen.

Lemonade was sickly sweet, wings were dipped in excessive amount of sweet syrupy sauce. Crab burger was good but a bit too simple. Just crab cake in bread. Overall disappointing experience, we drove out of way based on Google reviews.

If you haven't tasted the Drop Fries and Saucey Wings, you don't know what's good! Great for a casual lunch or a complete family meal. Prices are reasonable and you can dine for two for under$25.
