Drinks are not overly sweet and are a proper craft cocktail experience.

Food is all too notch.

Has offerings that aren’t on every basic Thai restaurant.

Why is it so good!!!!!! Gotta come back 6 more times to have all the things I wanna try

We did a no-reservation walk-in and were seated at a high top --which worked out well. Excellent food & service. So nice to have such high quality Thai food in DC!

First time patron of Birdsong and all I can say is wow oh wow - this restaurant did not disappoint! The menu was innovative, the cocktails and food were beautifully crafted/plated, and every dish my party tried was delicious, although the shrimp dish was certainly a fav. Aside from the wonderful food, the ambiance was lovely and the entire staff was friendly and attentive, making for an exceptional overall experience. Can’t wait for my next visit!!

I don't usually write reviews, but I had to for Birdsong in DC. It's an absolute gem of a Thai spot right in the neighborhood!
The food is incredibly creative and packed with flavor and depth. Every dish bursts with bold, layered tastes that feel fresh and innovative, not your standard takeout. I especially loved how they serve spice on the side, it lets you customize the heat to your liking without overwhelming the delicate flavors.
Service was top-notch: friendly, attentive, and speedy without rushing you. It's such a treat to have hidden treasures like this nearby, convenient for a quick dinner or casual night out. Highly recommend; I'll be back soon!

I have eaten here twice in two weeks and literally can’t stop thinking about it. Everyone has their own palate but for me this is the single best restaurant in DC. So glad they opened near us!

Terrible service and atmosphere. I reserved a table for a family member’s birthday over a week in advance. I notified them we would be running 10 minutes to which they replied it would be no problem. We arrived and the hostess asked us to then wait 2 minutes. We ended up waiting over 40 minutes for a table we had reserved and every time we went to ask about the table the hostess turned her back to us. She was incredibly demeaning and arrogant. Food did not look authentic and tasteful at all. The good reviews are very confusing to me as I have heard from multiple people that they had a similar or mediocre experience.

Great service. Way to noisy inside and out. Food and drinks had no.taste except from the chili oil. Would not go back.

I had one of the most delicious dinners I have had in my life! (& I am a 75 year old foodie!) on my first visit to this new restaurant, open 2 months. Selected Birdsong because it is a block from the Avalon movie theatre. I had the “Khao Soi” with shrimp. The flavors of the sauce were amazing!!! with fresh shrimps! Will be back soon to have again!!!

SO GOOD! The grilled oysters. Chef’s kiss! The white curry. Chef’s kiss. And I do not like curry in general. Midnight Fried Rice. Thankfully this was not spicy but my friend tried the sauce and it was HOT but he gave it so many thumbs up. Highly recommend the homemade ice cream. SO GOOD! The staff were friendly and knew the menu. I watched them work a bit and helped each other out with each other’s trays.

Been here twice— let me just say this, when any Asian restaurant gets fusion or americanized, it just becomes unnecessarily slow for no reason. Yes, I want to get a nice cocktail, which I could not get from Thai Pad. But I also sacrificed here and there by eating those random so called Thai dumplings or Thai curry, which tastes like trader Joe ish and Whole Foods ish. Therefore, I still expect my cocktail to come within at least 30 mins from ordering, cuz this is not fine dining. All I have to say is, good luck, I look forward to seeing the next endeavor from the next owner next year!
