We had exceptional service. We were there for a light lunch with 2 old friends who wanted to catch up. Our server provided our meal and extra tea and in no way made us feel rushed. We so appreciated his hospitality.
Outstanding original restaurant with many selections on the menu to choose, including vegetarian dishes. Pumpkin dumplings were tender and flavorful. My wife got the veg sampler. I chose a veal stew served on rice that was delicious. Service was friendly, attentive and helped with food selections. Ambience was a delightful bistro.
Always a great experience dining here... service with a smile- you are made to feel like family! Food always great!
Bistro Aracosia is a favorite. It's a great neighborhood restaurant, nice staff, and the food is always consistent and delicious.
We went based on recommendation for fabulous food. This was Our first time there for both couples. Service was fine but pretty slow to get to us, to check on us, to move to dessert and to close out. Not as attentive as I'd hoped. The specialty cocktails were fine but not great. I would definitely choose wine list or a standard cocktail next time. What was phenomenal was the food, excellent! Two of us did the tasting menu and from meats to veg to grains - it was exceptional and portions were very generous (take home boxes were used!). The atmosphere is cozy and just right.
Aracosia is one of our favorite go to restaurants. We always have delicious meals. The service is always good, and the ambience it's warm and welcoming.
A wonderful experience, as always. Great ambience in a neighborhood location, perfectly marinated and prepared meats, very tasty basmati rice with carrots and raisins, a good wine and cocktail selection, and a delicious bread basket with dipping sauce upon arrival. The service is friendly and eager to accommodate. This is our favorite restaurant in DC !!
Staff recommendations were spot-on.

Its always fun finding a restaurant that creates novel dishes that one doesnt cook (often better) at home. The extensive menu is a culinary adventure and the dishes do not disappoint. The atmosphere is lovely. Service was ok considering the restaurant was busy that night. Prices were reasonable.

I love the ambiance of Bistro Aracosia and the food is fantastic! Unique flavors and wide selection including wonderful vegan/vegetarian options. Try the dumplings! Our server Isaiah was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a fabulous experience.
Definitely one of DC's best restaurant, although it's pretty difficult to get to. Beautiful decor, good service, and truly exceptional food. Afghan food is similar to persian food, or like a lighter version of indian food. I recommend the stews, grilled meats, or the vegetarian sample plater.

Food isnt authentic Afghan food, carrots and peas over mantu... etc. Seems catered to American locals interested in the aesthetics of afghan food but it rlly isnt somewhere you want to eat if you are craving some homestyle afghan food.
