This is not an easy place to review though overall I five rhem 5 stars. Great ambiance, lovely upstairs dining room. Romantic with chandeliers. Service was very good. Prices were not cheap but par for the course. The food howrver was average. Definitely french but nothing spectacular. The escargot where ok but nothing special. Same for the other items. Bistro Cacao has been a favorite special occasion restaurant for us for at least a decade. Leaving an evening event last week, we made last minute reservations. Though the upstairs waa closed the downstairs dining room was more than enough. I enjoyed the amazing beef bourgeoisie and my hubby had the chicken cordon Bleu. That waa after we shared the amazing burratta salad. We were too full for dessert. As always, we had a fabulous time. I'll always love Bistro Cacao. 😍
The food was mostly delicious. The steak frites were not as good as expected, the meat was not soft and needed more taste. But the 3-course meal for $35 is a good deal. The French coffee was not good, but it depends if you like the grand marnier.
