Had a wonderful dinner here. It’s a cozy Parisian Bistro in the middle of DC. The salmon was done perfectly. Nice selections of appetizers as well. Along with beautiful presentation.

Location and ambiance is great. Only downside is there is only 1 restroom and makes it little annoying. Other than that food was great tasty, to the point portions. I will come back here to try their other items on the menu.

I ordered to-go tonight and on the way out while both my hands were full with my order - the manager was about a foot in front of me and only held the door open enough for him to get through, causing the door to slam in my face. Maybe that part was unintentional, but I still feel he could’ve been more aware of his surroundings, especially considering that he’s managing a busy restaurant. What made matters worse was that other staff members saw me struggling to open the door and didn’t assist me - they just watched so I had to KICK the door open. Not the best service. And as a paying customer I felt completely devalued and invisible.

Can’t wait to come back to Washington, DC just to have dinner at this restaurant again. They have the best escargot, tuna ceviche, and French wine. The customer service is outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely exceptional. A beautiful riverfront setting, top-tier quality, and incredible service all come together in one perfect spot.

Stopped for lunch. We enjoyed the warmth of the patio on the wharf even in winter. Wasn’t very busy, but service was good and attentive. Soft drinks came in overpriced small glass bottles, very European. The food was excellent including the croque madam and American burger. Pastry offerings were great as well.

Very bad place. Servers and waitresses are rude. They liked us out because kids won’t eat French food and I got them hot dogs from steak shake 🫨 not recommended to anyone

Saturday brunch around 12:30. Friendly staff. Baked goods were only average, somewhat dry and lacking the flavor in the item description, Breakfast eggs and meats were very good. Tourist prices, meal for two was 119 with tip.
Extremely mediocre Boeuf Bourguignon, which they claimed was their speciality dish. It was indistinguishable from a thrown-together pot roast - but even worse.

Bistro Du Jour at the Wharf has an elegant setting and the potential to be a standout spot, but my experience was disappointing. The hosting lacked warmth and organization, which set a poor tone for the visit. For a place in such a vibrant area, I expected a welcoming and polished front-of-house experience. Additionally, the bar was underwhelming—limited options and lackluster execution that didn’t match the high-end vibe the restaurant aims for. While the concept and location are great, attention to hospitality and bar quality is essential to elevate the overall experience. Hoping to see improvements because the space deserves better.

Restaurantji Recommends
Our 3rd or 4th time and the first average. The restaurant response to several food details missed “busier than expected”. Nearly 50 years in food service, you gotta be ready for the unexpected and manage the unexpected. They handled the concerns with Grace, but wouldn't have caught them without being brought to their attention. That was the concern from our point of view.
A good French Onion Soup is hard to find. It can be found here. No issues, great service.

We were a group of four planning to enjoy brunch, but it turned into a very disappointing experience. After placing our order, we waited for over 50 minutes just to be served a simple omelet, brioche, and burger. The restaurant wasn’t even busy — only around four tables were occupied — so the long wait was unacceptable.
To make matters worse, when we finally paid, a blonde male waiter came back angrily because one person from our group hadn’t left a tip, even though the other three of us had. His behavior was unprofessional, rude, and completely out of line, especially considering the poor and extremely slow service we received.
Waiting almost an hour for basic brunch food and then being confronted by staff over tipping was unacceptable. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone expecting decent service or respect as a customer.

We were so incredibly pleased with our experience! The service was the best we'd received in a very long time. The staff made us feel so special on our anniversary, even giving us a handwritten note of congratulations. Our table overlooked the water, and we had a splendid view of the sunset. 10/10 service, food, ambience, and deviled eggs. We 1000% will come here again!
Great ambience and good food. I would go back. My only complaint would be about the service, which was a bit strange. A couple staff members (including our server) kept trying to take our food, utensils, napkins, etc. as soon as they sensed we were slowing down. In spite of the fact that we told them several times that we wanted to continue nibbling on the bowl of fruit and fries that we were sharing, they kept trying to take them and eventually did just take them without asking even though we were still eating them. It seemed like they wanted to rush us out, except that our server never came back after that. We probably would have ordered another drink or even dessert if they had asked (they didn't) and eventually I had to flag someone down to ask for our bill almost an hour after they had taken our plates away.
