We really enjoyed our visit to Bistrot Lepic. On the first beautiful day in forever, we visited Dumbarton Oaks house and garden and then Bistrot Lepic. Great food, outstanding wine.
The upstairs wine bar and lounge of Bistrot Lepic used to be one of my favorite places in Washington DC. I returned to DC and went on Sunday evening and they have since remodeled the upstairs to all restaurant style tables and got rid of the lounge. They also do not offer wine flights and there was no bartender for the upstairs bar on Sunday evening. It was a completely different feel. We had a lovely lunch at Bistro Lepic. Cozy, welcoming and special, it has a local casual vibe and delicious gazpacho and soft shelled crabs. The owner, Cyrill, was gracious and we chatted about our love of France. What a pleasant experience!
