Love the packaging, looks amazing. Variety is what I'm always looking for. Let's dig in! ..... they forgot chopsticks or forks ...

(Translated by Google) I do not recommend this sushi. The rice was waste and no longer useful and I don't know if it's normal but the seaweed was very acidic. Sorry, I would have loved it to be rich.(Original)No recomiendo este sushi. El arroz estava desecho y ya no servia y no se si es normal pero el alga estava muy acida. Sorry, me hubiera encantado que estuviera rico.

I was not impressed with the sushi here, it was cut too big to eat and the rice was overly vinegared. It felt slapped together for such a high price for a box.

Very cute presentation and great vegan options! I got the little forest box and it was great! Will definitely come back for more. Genki!

How do you rate a food place? Do you compare it to your expectations? To other similar Asian restaurants nearby? By itself in a vacuum? The food here was bad enough in all 3 respects that I decided to give it a review. And I don't review places very often...only when they're exceptionally good or bad. The atmosphere is...just do take-out only. That's their schtick, since it seems like it's mostly a supply kitchen for food trucks. The service was mediocre. It took about 22 minutes to make 3 rolls and a poke bowl, which was a long time considering we were the only people in the place. But I guess the kitchen was also prepping food truck meals?...so we waited around for a while. The sushi was on par with what you'd expect from a gas station. With the exception that they have actual raw fish here. My spicy salmon roll was mostly mayonnaise sauce. The rice was the texture of grocery store sushi rice. At least the rolls were big around. That part was nice. The Spicy Salmon Poke...maybe was okay if you expect DC fusion specialty grocery store style poke. But it's not too similar to Hawaiian poke. The sauce is basically spicy mayonnaise sauce, maybe with a little ginger or a soy sauce in it. My bowl was 3/4 rice, and the little bit of salmon was so smothered in the spicy mayonnaise sauce that I couldn't taste it. I guess you can't expect Hawaiian style poke when you're in DC...but this is definitely different. The packaging was cute, at least. Fun colors & designs printed on the box that our sushi came in. The sushi here is okay enough for food trucks, and I suppose I shouldn't have expected anything great for that reason. But it's a brick-and-mortar location! For the same price and same amount of my own time, I could have eaten the same amount of delicious, well-prepared sushi in Chinatown.

Best Sushi I have ever had, I order a lot. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Unfortunately it suddenly is no longer on Uber one, which means I can no longer order it. Wish I could drive because I would go pick it up.

The jalapeño popper sushi was amazing and I'll definitely order again. Unfortunately the shrimp tempura was good but the consistency was too dense. The flavor was good but there was too much rice which took away from the overall taste. I also may be picky because I've lived Japan.

Finally, a sushi and poke place near our neighborhood. However, I was a bit disappointed. Though I think there is room for improvement as some things were weird/not good, while other parts were great. Hence the perfectly average 3 of 5 stars. First, no wasabi! Shame. Second, the spicy version of rolls/bowls (e.g. the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and the spicy salmon poke bowl) all use what tastes like gochugaru to make it spicy. This is a strange pairing of flavors. This Korean red chili (gochugaru) is what is used in kimchi (fermented cabbage)...thus Block Sushi's spicy fish offerings just tasted like kimchi and lost all of the "freshness" that sushi should have. We could not finish the spicy rolls or the poke bowl; not appetizing at all. Though, I’m not surprised they used gochugaru as Block Sushi's "sister" restaurant is Bangbop, a Korean cuisine joint. Third, besides the odd flavor of the spicy salmon poke bowl it was just all smashed in a shallow brown paper “bowl.” All the rice was stuck to the bottom which made it nearly impossible to eat with chopsticks; frustrating. Rice sticks like crazy to paper/cardboard.The good, yes there is some. The “Block” roll and the “Zone” rolls were excellent, top tier rolls. The presentation was great. Love the big blue box to with separate spaces for each roll we ordered. The included disposable soy sauce dishes were welcomed. Good amount of ginger...just really missing the wasabi! Not sure if we’ll try it again. Based on the flavor profiles of this sushi I’m guessing Bangbop is probably pretty good and I'll need to try it. They’re at a neat location, the staff was very friendly. Wish you all the best.

We threw most the sushi away it had a foul taste (I think the fish was bad) and the app is never updated correctly so your sushi could easily be sitting out for 40+ minutes while the notifications will lead you to believe otherwise and nobody will answer the phone. They will also give you wasabi the size of a pea. Overall very disappointed every time I order block sushi and will not order again. I give two stars because I believe this is the same owners of bang bop which is really good.

Don't be fooled. This is NOT a sushi restaurant. This is an industrial warehouse that mainly preps food for all the food trucks parked outside. When you walk in, you're greeted by no one. If you can figure out what's going on, you will order on a kiosk screen and pay remotely. After about 20 minutes, someone will bring you your order. The sushi rolls are cut too big, with mostly rice with little filling. And the only nigiri on the menu starts at $40. You can either eat it on the dirty park benches outside or in your car. Won't be coming back.
