Blue Bottle Coffee

I am usually a fan of Blue Bottle, but will avoid this location in the future. They charge pour over prices ($7) for a drip coffee that taste burned! This is not listed on their menu and it is a complete rip off!

This was my first time having Blue Bottle and I continue to ask myself ... why? Why have I waited so long? I am not a coffee drinker but love hot chocolate and this was some of the best, if not the best hot chocolate I have ever had. I think about it several times a week, haha! And now I am so sad that we don't have a Blue Bottle in my city. Sigh. I guess I will just have to ensure I get it whenever I'm back in DC or in Chicago now.

Also, the service was nice, and I was lucky that I visited later in the day so I got a seat. It's kind of noisy being in Union Station, but it wasn't incredibly busy.

I love the blue bottle in downtown chicago, so when I saw blue bottle at the union station in Washington DC I had to pop in for a quick cuppa! The people working behind the counter weren’t friendly. But Coffee was super good as usual for blue bottle.

So I don't often leave reviews about coffee but I needed to leave one about this 1. I don't know the name of the barista that made this but he made one EXCELLENT hot mocha latte! Just the right balance. Not too sweet as they often are. Wow! Really good.

I really don't understand why it's so lonely rated. It's quite overpriced but still good coffee and I don't know what price you would expect at a train station.

Our Republic is crumbling, pillars decayed and chewed from the inside. Some days I must travel into the belly of the Beast. When I do, I disembark and stride directly thru the lobby to Blue Bottle where I order a cappuccino. Lifting it to my lips as I inhale the aroma, tasting the espresso in steamed milk.☕ Feeling the stress lessen, I can almost believe, for a little while, that everything may turn out OK 🙏

Just absolutely horrible service. The workers looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for extra almond milk on the side (that I already ordered and paid for). Would not recommend.

Excellent Pain au chocolate and respectable latte. I’m often skeptical of transit hub coffee shops. This one is worth the stop.

We stopped by for espresso drinks before our long train ride. Like most who are at Union Station we had a time limit before having to board. There was zero urgency by the three staff members here. There was no one in line, only one other person on the other side waiting for a drink, and we were standing at the register. All three saw us standing and we had no acknowledgement. Two of them were doing nothing while the other was making a drink, and no one would come to the register to take our order.

We finally ordered and were waiting on our drinks. They already sent out the one order ahead of us, so ours would be next. We waited at least 5 minutes for 2 lattes to be made. I’ve been a barista for years, and it should never take that long unless you’re training.

Our orders finally came out and it wasn’t even our orders… We paid extra for the specialty latte and got a plain latte. They spent all that time to not even be making the specialty latte.

I travel through Union station a lot and frequent this spot, and every time there’s an issue with service being extremely slow and inattentive. Unless your train is delayed and you have time to spare, I’d go elsewhere.
