It is a nice and creative restaurant, but they do not treat well one-person reservations. Prices have gone to the roof from previous visits.
Never disappoints, it's been a while since last time. The food is outstanding, flavors and presentation. Service and the entire team welcoming, professional. Lively energy, must experience! thank you BDT team!
While the service and food were quite good, I was very disappointed as somewhat older woman that my friend and I were seated at the very back of the restaurant, completely out of sight from other patrons. This had nothing to do with the availability of tables. The restaurant was virtually empty. As a result, I will not be attending this restaurant again though I have been there innumerable times in the past.
We were an hour delayed due to our flight. Contacted restaurant and they moved us without issue. Beautiful table inside a kind of cube. Food was fantastic. Service was great. This is our second time dining at Blue Duck and would definitely return on a future trip to DC. First time staying at Park Hyatt and it did not disappoint.
We had a really good time with friends on brunch celebrating my birthday , food was delicious and our server Shiva made us feel at home !!
Fantastic all around. Superb food and service. Quiet atmosphere for easy dinner conversations. Highly recommend!
This restaurant was great! Awesome food and very friendly attentive staff. Will come back!
We only come to town occasionally, but we always try to eat at Blue Duck - It NEVER disappoints in any way. Thanks so much for always being wonderful!!
Delicious dining experience. The food and service was excellent. We were seated near the kitchen, so it is a bit louder there. But it was neat to see the kitchen bring out dishes and get them ready to serve. Been here ages ago but will return!
Very good and fresh breakfast offerings with fun staff (big shoutout to the hostess- she was incredible!).

There was temporary staffing at the hostess table that caused inconsistent service. The floor manager recovered the situation for us fairly well but I would not dine again if I saw that hostess at the front desk.
The service was excellent. The food was Michelin quality. The restaurant was a little empty, but it was after eight when we sat down to eat . It was my daughter's birthday and the menu had her name printed on it .When we left they had signed the copy with all the employees. It was a fabulous evening.
My partner and I came to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was the best experience ever! We started with drinks in the lounge/bar. The bartenders were well versed in this area. They even offered dinner and dessert recommendations. After drinks we went to dinner. The waiter was also well versed in his role and recommended dinner selections. The food was outstanding! We were also given dessert to celebrate our special evening.
So the duck confit and our other meal was great. I was disappointed in the bone marrow because there was so little of it for such a big price. You can definitely get a good amount of the same tasting food at another expensive restaurant for a little bit cheaper with bigger servings
During our anniversary stay at the Park Hyatt, we had the pleasure of dining at Blue Duck Tavern for both dinner and breakfast. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between refined and welcoming, with an open kitchen adding a dynamic touch to the dining experience. Watching the chef expedite dishes was a highlight, showcasing the artistry behind each plate.
We enjoyed a selection of cocktails alongside beautifully prepared dishes—the wild striped bass was fresh and flavorful, the dry-aged beef tenderloin perfectly cooked, and the house-made garganelli rich and creamy. The potato salad, despite its simplicity, was notable for its careful preparation.
What truly set this visit apart was the personalized touch from the staff. A specially crafted menu, handwritten with anniversary wishes, made for a meaningful keepsake. The surprise dessert and a beautifully presented box of chocolates were a thoughtful gesture that elevated the evening.
The next morning, we returned for breakfast, which was just as enjoyable. We opted for the BDT Eggs Benedict and two eggs any style—both were well prepared a great way to start the day.
Ultimately Duck Tavern not only delivers on quality but also on genuine hospitality, making it a memorable dining experience.
