Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the different beers. The food was good, however, it was too, too dark in the restaurant due to the lighting situation, could not read the menu nor see your food. The restaurant is a health hazard and an accident waiting to happen because of the lightning, too dark. Will not be back!
My g/f & I dined at the Bluejacket on Saturday night, and EVERYTHING was spectacular. The hosts were smiling, and welcoming. We sat outside. Ben was our server. He was welcoming and friendly. The "Hill House" was a great recommendation. We started off with the Deviled Eggs & Calamari - great presentation & the eggs were phenomenal. Not to mention the Catfish sandwich was a solid choice. For dessert. the blueberry cheesecake was out of this world. If you're in DC, swing by The Yards, see Ben & the Bluejacket team for a great meal & amazing service.
3.5⭐ Overall a very good brewery with an ok kitchen. Been here quite a few times before for drinks but this was my first time eating here. Came before a Nats game so it was fairly busy but we were seated right away.
Our waiter was very friendly and got our appetizer and drink orders quickly. The beers, as per usual, were very good. The issue with the food is mostly serving size, for example the deviled eggs ($13) is just two eggs or the waffles ($16) is actually two smaller waffles, and two slices of bacon. The issue really isn't quality, all of the food tasted very good, it's just the price/portion ratio sometimes seems a bit out of balance.
Still, the place is very clean, bright and well lit, and despite getting loud when busy (it's quite cavernous) it's one of the better casual options in Navy Yard.
Ben is my GOATTTTTT
The atmosphere was extraordinary, making it a place I would normally rate five stars.
However, I must point out the extremely disappointing service from the host, Natitude 23. Her rude behavior, poor attitude, and unprofessional demeanor truly shocked me. From the moment we arrived, her lack of hospitality stood out—she made faces, carried herself with an unpleasant attitude, and even wore dark sunglasses indoors, which made it impossible to tell who she was addressing. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a restaurant host.
Thankfully, the evening was redeemed by Carmen Torre Alba, who offered exceptional service. She was warm, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu, guiding our party with great suggestions and ensuring we had a wonderful dining experience. Carmen represents what true hospitality should look like!
Blue Jacket, your food and atmosphere are phenomenal—but please take note of the disconnect at the front door. First impressions matter, and not every guest may be lucky enough to have a “Carmen” to turn their experience around.
Bluejacket never disappoints. We were lucky to partake in their restaurant week offerings this visit which was a steal. The beer offerings are outstanding—quality and quantity. The service was superior. Be sure to put Bluejacket on your DC itinerary.
Really great service! We had a super large party upstairs and the waiter was all over it! Food was amazing and a great beer menu!
Excellent staff, very good food and reasonably priced for DC. The waitress I had was outstanding as well as the ancillary staff. Manager came by to check on us as well.
Went in for restaurant week 2, two of us at 1130am. The portions are large and the food arrived promptly and hot. Companion said the beer was very good.
The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is my steak was served practically raw (ordered medium/medium well). When I informed the server she immediately offered to replace it with a new one and had the manager come over. Everything was fixed to my staisfaction. Also- I agree with another reviewer....too salty across the board. I figure the misfire is a one off mistake, the rest of the food was outstanding!
I absolutely reccomend Bluejacket and will definitely eat there again.
We went to BlueJacket for restaurant week and it was outstanding. The food was great, the jumbo pretzel, potato skins and both burgers were outstanding. The potato skins were like a really fun version of bar nachos. We finished our meal with the flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake, both which were so good we thought someone was going to have to roll us out of the restaurant. The beer was great especially the double wedding. The service was alright, there were moments where it felt like our waitress kind of forgot about us towards the end but the manager and food runners were fantastic. Overall, we will definitely be returning!
The food, service, and beer at Bluejacket are always good. And it is a great place to catch a game. I highly recommend membership in their Officers Club.

Beer is good but the service not so much. Food wasn't correct and our server was dismissive and didn't seem to want to actually do their job. The server took our order and then we didn't see they/them again. Finally had to ask another staff member to get our check, then the original server came with the check and expected a tip like they did a great job. First and last time going to this brewery.
Fantastic venue, and fantastic beer. Thanks to Adam at Beer On The Wall in Elmhurst IL for the recommendation.
We went for dinner after an afternoon Nats game and had a great experience. The game was especially quick, and we arrived significantly before our reservation time. No problem, we were immediately seated and our server commented that it was good that we had reservations because they were full on reservations for the evening. We ordered drinks and asked the server for choices between a couple of pairs of items. She told us what she preferred and why, so we followed her lead. My wife had fish and chips. The fish was plump and perfectly breaded, they did not skimp on the number of fries, and a small container of coleslaw rounded out the plate. I had the bluejacket double - two perfectly cooked patties with the fixins and a nice portion of fries. The place was almost completely full both outside and inside, but the service was fast and courteous. The manager stopped by to not only check on us but chat for a minute - naturally about the game. Overall a nice casual place to go after a game, or if you are in the Navy Yard area. Good beer, good food, good service, and good atmosphere, all without breaking the bank.
Fresh atmosphere with ultra professional bar staff…..I tasted a few light/crisp beer selections, much better than I anticipated…..great value!
Excellent brewery overall. Solid beers, good venue and exceptional staff (Mya and JonathOn were on point! My best experience in DC / Baltimore area!
