**updated to 5 stars they’ve made the change and now seal it
I LOVE their pizza! The Macha Ron is to die for! The kale Cesar is delicious The only thing is I wish when you ordered through delivery that they taped the box close so that you know it’s sealed/safe, giving them 4 stars for that. Hoping an owner/manager sees this so they make the change

I did not have the full experience here because I arrived right as they were closing. However, despite this, they served us with a smile and the food did not disappoint.
We got a “Detroit style” pizza with vodka sauce and pepperoni, which was delicious! I also loved the decor in here and cannot wait to go back.
Seriously though, props to them for not ushering us away!

Great pizza. Delicious wings. Pizza was perfectly baked with an expert char around the crust. The garlic confit on the strat pie was an exceptional touch. Servers were cool and friendly.

We made the mistake of reserving an outdoor table on a night with some rain, and there are no outdoor umbrellas at Boogy & Peel. When we first arrived, I asked the host if we might switch to an indoor table but he said none were available. Right away, based on his response, I could tell he was not friendly and that he did not have a good service attitude.
Even before it started raining and 40 minutes after we arrived, I asked if we could move inside as a couple of tables remained unoccupied - and I was still told no without an explanation. I asked a third time after we were getting rained on while eating, and once again, no luck. Some people did arrive for the indoor tables - 45 to 60 minute after we got there, but it was clear to me that the host could have shifted things around or reconfigured a table to accommodate the three of us. But he chose not to and instead let us sit unhappily in the rain.
As for the pizza, they are known for their creative pizzas, and we had a slice of Detroit, a Stracci Pie, and a Nonna’s Vodka Pie. The Detroit was good, the Stracci was fair (but no comparison to Stracci Pizza in Alexandria), and the other two in our party liked the Vodka Pie. They also brought out a small bowl of sauce (maybe for dipping?) that was weird and not enjoyable.
Ordering is done through a QR code and a server, who was also working as the bartender, helped us with recommendations, and he was very good.
I am a positive pizza poster and reviewer - but this was not a good experiencemainly due to the host’s inability to work with us, which set the stage for the rest of the night.

The Best Pizza Experience We’ve Ever Had — Hands Down
My wife and I have been wanting to try Boogy and Peel for years, and now that we finally did, I can confidently say: it was beyond worth the wait.
From the moment we stepped through the door, we felt like we were being welcomed into a friend’s home. The vibe is warm, inviting, and full of energy—but what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone we interacted with treated us like family. They were kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive—especially when we mentioned our food allergies. It’s rare to find a restaurant that balances such professionalism with genuine warmth, and they nailed it.
Now onto the star of the show: the pizza. We’ve eaten pizza all over—from classic NYC slices to some of the most hyped spots across the country—and nothing compares to what Boogy and Peel is doing. The flavors are bold and balanced, the ingredients are clearly top-tier, and every topping combination feels crafted with purpose. Every bite was unforgettable.
This isn’t just the best pizza in D.C.—this is the best pizza I’ve ever had. And I don’t say that lightly.
The only downside? We live in Tennessee. The idea that we have to travel hundreds of miles to get another taste is heartbreaking—but honestly, we’ll gladly make the trip again. It’s that good.
A huge shoutout to the amazing team who made our visit so memorable: Andre, Edwin, both Jason's, Owais, Pat, and Gloria—thank you all for making us feel special and truly taken care of. It’s rare to see a team that operates with this level of passion and pride in what they do.
If you're even thinking about coming to Boogy and Peel—stop thinking. Just go. This place is a gem, and if I could give it more than five stars, I would.

The pizzas here are amazing — by far the best I’ve had in DC. The kale caesar pizza in particular was an unexpected surprise which I’ll definitely order again. The crust is chewy and crispy with a great char.

Unfortunately the pizza was burnt and the garlic confit made it taste quite bitter/ herbal. Really liked how thin it was however.

There is an automatic 18% dine in fee. The food is great the service is meh the cost was outrageous. Expect about 30 dollars for 2-3 people depending on how hungary you are.

I ordered from boogy and peel because I wanted to try something new and am happy I did.
The pizza does not deliver well, the crust came soggy, but it would have been amazing if I ate there. The pizza is packed with flavor and spice. I had the macha roni and loved it!!!
The wings were not good. They were overcooked and the sauce did not stay on them.
The Italian sandwich was very nice. I prefer something rich and filling, but their take on it is light and airy. You get all the flavors but you’re not weighed down after eating it. I’d order it again.
