Love the food here. Loses a star because they recently changed their hours and are no longer open during dinner time. I will never be able to go now :((((((

They had the best Italian sandwich in DC until they started making their own bread. The new bread is fine, but their old rolls were amazing. I understand why they would make their own rolls, but I miss the old bread.

100% a place skating by on reputation & pretentious self-assessment. Staff is surly and they refuse to make a single, basic alteration to any of their sandwiches (i.e. just not include *one* of the 4 or 5 meats that come on a sub). You're a walk-up, carry-out only sub shop, not a Michelin place -- get over yourself.

Have been here a couple times now but am not coming back. Plenty of other good places nearby that aren't worth the hassle.

The girl inside the short one got the orange shirt on was extremely rude. A waste of money. Even dealing with these guys. To made a point to say we make everything fresh here. We want to charge you for everything. She's like. You got a buck in your pocket. I'll give you some hot sauce. I just dropped $42 on three sandwiches. They were good but chicken parm really wasn't worth it. The chicken cutlet was very good. There's nowhere to sit. It was extremely hot. They make you sit outside and some public seating

This place feels extremely overrated. I came across tons of reviews of Bub and Pop’s, with people raving about its old-school vibe, fresh ingredients, and high-quality sandwiches, but I was disappointed in a few ways. The service was quick, but the staff at the counter were snappy and not very welcoming. The prices aren’t just a bit steep—they’re outright expensive. An Italian sub costs over $19 if you pay with a card, which is wild for a sandwich. Even after paying with cash and getting a discount, it still came to more than $17 with tax—still a bit too high. When I finally got the sandwich, the bread was soggy from all the oil, and the meat had an odd taste. I’ve had plenty of Italian subs, but this one was overwhelmingly salty. Regardless, I appreciate the concept of a sandwich shop running out of a small, homey spot—it’s got a cool vibe and potential. But for the price, it just wasn’t worth it.

Wish they had indoor dining, I stop by every DC trip. See them on Diners drive in’s and dives and felt I had to try it. Food is amazing.

The young lady in the front has a bad attitude, she could be more friendly.

It’s fantastic. The prices are getting a little steep but the sandwiches are in their own league for DC. Compliments only and capo have also been recommended to me but this blew me away.

Paid to park. Handed a menu. Ordered roast pork. Told it’s out of season.

Apparently pork sandwiches are seasonal but only after you pay for parking and order

Great sandwiches. Skip the chips. $5 for a 2oz bag of what appears to be white-labeled classic Lay’s.

Wonderful sandwich. Awful service. Will I be back? Yes. Will I pray that the female cashier be fired? YES...God yes!! In the meantime I guess I will be saving the tip money for my own pocket.

Over Rated! 20 bucks for a below average sandwich. Hebrew Hammer was basically a pile of coleslaw between two pieces of bread. Refused to swap provolone for Swiss cheese because that’s the way the owner likes it. I guess the customer is not always first. I’ll never go back there.
