Burrito Brothers of Capitol Hill

Beyond delicious. My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner after spending some time online researching the “best burrito in DC.” This place did not disappoint. Since we went at night, there was plenty of seating. The guy who took our order was so sweet and helpful. We both got Cali Burritos, which have French fries in them! The ingredients were fresh, the burrito was toasty and my taste buds were happy.

I enjoyed my burrito, but it took longer than it should have to prepare. I had to ask for it eventually after not having my name called.

Very good tacos

DC is severely lacking in quality burritos but this place at least scratches the itch! There are 3 different sizes of burritos as well depending on how hungry you are. Growing up in Colorado gave me a love for breakfast burritos and lots of visits to San Diego made me always craving a Cali burrito and Burrito Brothers does both extremely well!

People below complaining about the prices are simply upset that extras are not complimentary (ie chicken is free but steak is an extra fee) and that each size burrito is a different price which makes sense that you pay more for something that’s larger.

Burrito Brothers is a great little restaurant to grab a bite to eat if you are in a hurry. It is located on Pennsylvania Ave. SE near The Library of Congress as well as many of the other major sites in the DC area!

The Food:
They have a breakfast menu as well as a lunchtime menu and when we visited with was it was lunchtime.
You can choose anything from a burrito bowls to burritos, tacos to taco salads, quesadillas as well as a range of sides.
I ordered a 12" Burrito and to be honest you really have to be hungry for it because it is packed full of food and full of flavour! There is an 8", a 12" and a 14" size to choose from and in my opinion the 12" was super filling even to the point that the 12" could even be shared and you'll still be satisfied.
My fiancée ordered a quesadilla with a side of guacamole. I'd actually recommend the quesadilla over the burrito if your feeling peckish but want something that is tasty, flavourful and satisfying!

The Staff:
The staff were really friendly and very attentive and pointed out that there was a water tap for free to fill up your water bottle.
Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the man that served us at the counter but he was very nice!

Location:
It is located on Pennsylvania Ave. SE near the back of The Library of Congress building as well as being near many of the other major sites in the DC area!
The area was quiet when we visited as it was the 3rd of July in the middle of a work day but I would imagine that it is normally very busy especially at breakfast time or lunchtime.

Layout & Decor:
The entrance is at the left hand side as you face the building and as you walk into the recess the door is on your right hand sode.
It is a breakfast and lunchtime type of restaurant so it is laid out in a fashion to maximise space for customers to grab and go. However, there are a number of stools along the front window with a bench to sit at as well as a number of stools and a bench along the left hand side of the ordering counter to also sit at.
Its worth noting that there isn't any bathrooms.
The wall on the right hand side was decorated with some funky art and the counter on the left hand side had a mirror which made the premises feel roomy.

Overall Opinion:
Burrito Brothers is definitely a great spot for lunch and if the luch food is anything to go by I assume that the breakfast food is equally as good!
They serve delicious burritos and quesadillas with a variety of options to mix and match to suit everyone!
I highly recommend stopping here!

Parking: There was street parking out the front but it is a busy area so I'd imagine it is hard to get a space at the right time.
I would imagine that there are carparks nearby in the area.

Wheelchair accessibility: I cannot remember if there was a step at the front door however, nothing stands out in my mind othrr than the entrance might be a bit tight as you have to enter a recess and then turn right.
The floor area has a decent amount of space but it mighr get tight if its busy.

Great place, friendly service, tasty and fast burritos. They open early. Pay them a visit.

Coming from S Texas this place hit the spot while ok vacation

Food not good at all. Mushy and unpleasant barely any chicken. Just bean and sauce. I won't ever be back.

Meh. It was OK. Was expecting more based on reviews. Counter service was very friendly. Food was out fast. Tasted OK; not bad, not great. Limited seating; probably better for takeout. No restroom. Seemed very expensive for a hole in the wall. OK if you want a quick bite in the area but maybe better options.

I ordered a taco salad in the tortilla bowl and it was burnt! I asked if it was a wheat tortilla because it was so dark, I was told it was baked and that’s how they are, I’m not happy about it, it tasted burnt, not my 1st time having a taco salad bowl, I’m going to look into a refund, it tasted so burnt I couldn’t eat it

We knew we would be right when we saw the police inside the premises as regular customers.
And we don't fail. Great food and extraordinary treatment

I wish they have restroom. Most customers are not local. Once in a while visitor dine in customers need restroom.
