Expecting a southern style cuisine, it was nothing like we expected. We were not impressed with the menu. Even a simple hamburger lacked taste. We mentioned our unhappiness to management. Accepting the recommendation from the tour office meant giving the menu the benefit of the doubt. Not a place we would recommend nor dine at again on our next trip to the Frederick Douglas Estate.

Was really looking forward to the sweet potato pancakes from the reviews - to me, they were just ok. Flavor was too muted imo and they were a tad dry without syrup, which overpowered the sweet potato flavor. Didn’t finish them because it just wasn’t worth the calories to me
I’d come back to try the Monday burger deal and maybe bread pudding, but wouldn’t bother with breakfast again.
The hot cider was solid.

RJ was absolutely amazing! His service was warm, attentive, and truly made our visit special. The food was delicious, beautifully seasoned, and came out perfectly. Between the great service and great food, we had a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back and we highly recommend asking for RJ!

Place is nice. We went for lunch and there was no crowd. Food and service was good. Only negative is the parking. It can be a challenge. Other than that really nice relaxing place with good food and service.
