Although the service of my server was excellent as well as my meal, I was not please with the idea that the staff allowed a couple with a rather large dog to be seated at the table next to ours. Had this been a service animal, I would not have had a problem with it but, this was not the case. I am an animal lover but, I have to draw the line at having to dine with someone else' pet. There was a large outside area and I feel management should have offered that area to them. Very disappointed in the way this was handled

Slow service. Incorrect orders. Cold soup that had to be returned. Place was empty and food took over an hour. But it least is was delicious!

The service was absolutely horrible. Our host barely greeted us and slapped the menus on the table and walked away. We needed a ranch for our appetizer and ended up waiting 10 minutes. Then we reminded them we wanted ranch. And they were petty and gave us a bowl of ranch and charges us $1.50. Then our table was not checked in on the entire time. We never got water refills, asked if we enjoyed the food, nothing. We actually finished all our food, cleaned up the table, and waited 20 minutes until our service came and got us the check. Then we received a horrible attitude aftering acknowledging how long we were waiting. Just a bonus; they make you pay on a keypad and the server watches you tip and pay. The food was great though. Props to kitchen.

The food is always good. I’ve been on a lamb burger kick lately. There are good options for brunch or dinner. There’s also events some evenings. I attended an open mic night for poetry a while back and it was great! So much talent in the space and encouraging of emerging and established artist alikeWheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is fairly accessible. There are double front doors and no button to open them so it may be difficult for electric chairs and larger chairs. The back event space can be cramped but I was able to be seated comfortably. Though I could see if being tricky trying to leave for a bathroom break once folks pack in. There are stairs to access the stage so that would be a big barrier for open mic nights

Not a shadow of it's former self. Revisited after 7 years. Bar staff are still excellent so's the beer. Food was fine, but server was unenthusiastic and slow.

Great find as I was out and looking for a bite to eat. Restaurant, bookstore, a place to gather and share ideas and create community. Friendly staff and great menu! I will be back!

This place is a definite vibe. From the books to the welcoming smile you get from the host when we walked in, the waiter was super chill. The very handsome gentleman with locs who brought out our food to the table....The food was excellent by the way lol, and I love the fact that they had plenty of true vegan options. And not just the vegan label but with animal by products in them. I wish I was here longer. I would have definitely attended the poetry to GoGo competition. But I will be back!Dietary restrictions: There are plenty of true vegan options.

Busboys and Poets have good food and also books! Our server was very kind and attentive. We had the Small Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice (which tasted more like normal bottled juice), then the CHICKEN OMELETTE with sweet potato fries and CLASSIC BENEDICT with Ceasar Salad.I really liked the taste of the ham in the classic benedicts but they have a lot of hollandaise sauce which stole the flavor of the egg. The Ceasar Salad was good, the flavor you would expect.SPANISHBusboys and Poets has good food and books too!Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice (but it tasted more like bottled orange juice), then the CHICKEN OMELETTE (French omelet with chicken inside) with fried sweet potato and the CLASSIC EGG BENEDICTS (eggs Benedict with Caesar salad.I really liked the ham in the eggs benedict but the excessive hollandaise sauce stole all the flavor from the eggs. The caesar salad was good, just the flavor you would expect.

The OG BB&P did not disappoint. I hadn't been to that location in a while but, the good was good and so were the drinks. We just missed HH by it didn't matter. Had the catfish nuggets & fries w/a Davis' OF.

I left the restaurant hungry and upset. I ordered a burger and asked the server Daryl to put the brussel sprouts as a side, I even said IM OK WITH AN UPCHARGE. He didn’t hear me, understandable. He said I will put your burger in. Ok great I have no problem with waiting and he admitted he misunderstood me. When the burger came 45 mins later it was nothing on the burger literally a patty. I am 13 weeks pregnant and everyone got to eat from the table but ME. I just ordered a simple burger with bacon and cheese. I will never come back to this establishment and I regularly go to Hyattsville location and NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. The manager offered me a cake. I just wanted my food correct

What a great menu - something for everyone! We went twice for dinner and for breakfast while we were visiting DC. The food, drinks, and staff were top-notch. Would definitely go back when we visit the city again in the future.

Great food while in the DC area. Our server was new but the manager stepped in to help. I had the beet salad which was fresh tasting and well dressed. My friend had the catfish with grits and greens. Catfish was fried crispy. Will definitely visit again next time I am in town.
