Thanks Bussboys for your hospitality during our group’s visit last Thursday . I traveled with my church choir (Tulane MB Church from Yazoo City, Ms). We dined in for breakfast and the food was AMAZING

Kinda feel okay about this branch, since it's not that big compared to the other branches in Maryland. I very much prefer the Columbia branch for the sizeable collection of books, and dining service that extends to late nights on the weekends.

Horrible experience!
I suggested this place for dinner with friends visiting from out of town, and I truly regret it. When we arrived, there were so many mosquitoes that one of my friends got bitten right away. My friend also wasn’t happy when his wine arrived half-poured.

We ordered the hummus, veggie vegan nachos, falafel sandwich, and a veggie pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta had hair in it. The server apologized and had it remade, but by that point, I had lost my appetite. I finished the nachos and tried to enjoy time with my friends, but the mood was already ruined.

We had come for a nice dinner out, but the overall service and food quality were very disappointing. The pasta was taken off the bill, but given the cost and the overall experience, this was honestly one of my worst dining experiences in DC so far. I felt embarrassed for suggesting this place to my friends.

It's comfortable and laid back environment. I like how they have the classic bar + high tables but also regular seating for meals. Yarif made my drinks and they were incredible. Definitely coming back!!!

I highly recommend as a calm after work chill

Yarif was an amazing bartender, he made incredible drinks for us while simultaneously handling a multitude of tasks. Overall a great experience!

I heard great things about this place, and I wanted to check it out while I was in town. We went to the 450K location -- which was a 5 min walk to the hotel. It definitely exceeded my expectations!

The service was top tier; we had a fascinating conversation with one of wait staff whose father knew Fidel Castro! I wish knew his name, as we enjoyed talking to him.

The atmosphere is cozy with books and paintings decorating the walls, and they support local artists of color!

Finally, the food was scrumptious!! I had the catfish was amazing; the collard greens were flavorful and seasoned to perfection, and the cheese grits was delicious. My mom and sister raved about their dishes, the bacon cheeseburger and vegan nachos, respectively.

If I stayed in the DMV, this will be definitely my go to hangout spot to eat, buy books and attend events! 10/10 I highly recommend!!!

Busboys and Poets is a fantastic hybrid between bookstore-cafe-restaurant that does all three well. I needed a place to stop in DC to finish up a coding homework assignment, and they provided the hospitality. I just got some tea but it felt like a great spot to get some work done. Unfortunately the one near Hopkins campus in Baltimore closed recently.
