This place if okay if you're passing by and don't want to wait. The butter chicken is very sweet. But it's not bad, just not the best.

This place has really gone down hill, do not waste your time or money…they overcharge and give small portions. They also have changed the recipe the food is super bland, there’s NO spice to it…and charge 17 per bowl…you could get the frozen tv dinners and they taste better than this. Will not be returning.

Wow. This is an entirely different restaurant than 2 years ago. Our meal was inedible. We ordered take out butter chicken last night with Saag Paneer and Chana Masala. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in ketchup. The Saag seemed like it was from a can with mystery cold cheese in it. The beans were flavorless and also inedible. Save your money and go elsewhere. During the pandemic we ate here once a week and the food was spicy delicious and plentiful.....gone are the days.

In the heart of DC, the Butter Chicken Company crafts a culinary credo with a menu more curated than a museum exhibit, featuring just five main entrées. Their pièce de résistance, the Butter Chicken, is a creamy tableau of tomatoes, butter, curry, and spices, delivering a performance that's quietly confident in its mild heat yet bold flavors. The Vegetable Biryani plays a vibrant supporting role, a spice-laden basmati rice ensemble cast with garden-fresh veggies, proving that sides can sometimes steal the spotlight. And the Mango Lassi? Not merely a beverage, but a sweet, creamy antidote to the spice, harmonizing the meal with its refreshing embrace. With a tight-knit lineup, the Butter Chicken Company champions the 'less is more' philosophy, turning a focused menu into an exploration of Indian culinary excellence.Overall, high marks to this gem, where the casual atmosphere and quick service make this a perfect lunch spot to dine alone or for a quick catch up with friends. Butter Chicken Company is a reminder that in the realm of flavors, simplicity often wins the day.

Disappointing scraped-off-the-bottom food. If you’re going to serve dinner, at least make some fresh food! Should’ve left and not water there, not worth the money. Gives their parent company Bombay a bad name, and they make delicious food!

Super disappointed by this place. The food lacked any type of freshness and was bland. The bread was stale, the saag tasted like canned spinach water, and the tikka masala lacked flavor and the chicken was dry. Not sure all the hype about this place.

I got butter chicken, aloo gobi & palak paneer here yesterday night and all my food is… slimy? Every time I lift my spoon, a trail of slime follows. I’ve had all these dishes many times before and this has never happened, so it’s quite concerning.

Some of the best Indian food around. simple, classic, and very tasty every time. This is my reliable spot, love this place. Service is fast and friendly and there's plenty of seating. Have tried lots of Indian food spots in the area and this ones always come out on top for food taste.

I've been passing by this place for a year and it always smells so good. Today I stopped in and got both the tiki masala with 2 sides CHANNA MASALA (CHICKPEA)SAAG PANEER (SPINACH / COTTAGE CHEESE)ALOO MATTAR (POTATO / PEAS) , and the butter chicken along with the mango Lassi, it totaled to $40, it was well worth the price as the food was excellent! The staff was very friendly, and service was quick. I did not expect it to be spicy as when walking in it didn't smell spicy but it was a nice surprise and had a nice kick. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Don't eat there! The food is pre-cooked and not particularly good. The waiters get the chilli level wrong and laugh in my face when I tell them. No respect, no pleasure in eating there and the food is not good. They're thieves!!
