I’ve been coming here for 20 years for their Tex-mex. Really good sizzling fajitas with generous portions of steak and all the fixings. Hands down, my favorite place in DC for Mexican. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating.
*Update 2/3/25 — My partner came twice in the last 2 weeks and said she found hair in her food both times. This has bever happened to me personally in all the times I’ve visited, but just a heads up to the staff.

Great service and vibes! Have been coming here on and off for several years now, and it never disappoints! Took some friends here last night for a 2016 bar crawl, and the vibes felt just so right! Plus the Quesadilla was amazing! Made my friend smile. Would recommend!

I had chicken fajitas and a margarita. I could have used a few more onions, smaller sliced green peppers, and some sour cream or cheese. Service was good and the atmosphere was great!

Cactus Cantina was my last stop before coming home from a recent trip to D.C. It was the perfect pre-full-day-flight food. The outdoor patio is cute and clean and a great place to people watch. Service from Juan was exceptional, very kind and accommodating. The food is fabulous, and the guacamole is the best I've eaten!

Had a very nice experience with great wait staff. There is limited vegetarian options. Prices and portion sizes are very good for the DC area.

Excellent Tex Mex. Had a Sangarita and Shrimp Tacos which were very good. Their Fajitas are terrific as well. Large portions and reasonable prices.

Hit this for Happy Hour after touring the Washington National Cathedral. Authentic and unique. Good happy hour specials from 3-6pm. Delicious! Recommend. Very attentive staff. Tortilla soup was unique and tasty (broth based)

The restaurant has variety of flavorful Mexican food. Reserved a table; no wait.Good food for a reasonable price. Not noisy. The four of us talked at a normal tone throughout the meal.

This is a holiday tradition for us. So good. The food is very great with grilled meat and fresh vegetables. Serving sizes good but dishes are not overloaded with beans and rice. Our server Juan was exceptional ensuring we had everything we needed. He even packed us a complete to go basket with everything we needed for a snack in our hotel room later. I highly recommend Cactus Cantina.
