I was in the area for business and was relatively close to the cantina. The place is a combination of young professionals, locals, and families. It was warm enough for outdoor seating but I sat at the bar.\n\nSurprisingly, the food is a deal compared to other dc venues for the quality and portions. This is especially true as a sit down with staff and atmosphere. While mine was essentially standard Mexican fare, everything was done very well. I did see quite a few to go orders...
CC's is a DC institution having been here for ... 35? plus years. As such they do most things right. The food is good. The drinks are cold. The chips and salsa are tasty and Happy hour can be fun.
I'd love a little more attention from the wait-staff -- maybe bigger cup sizes so they don't need to refill all the time. And some salsa with the food orders would go a long way. But these are minor critiques as CC's longevity speaks to...
