Had a blueberry bagel with vegan cream cheese and jam. I understand a person's choice in bagel is very personal, if not *the* most personal and significant choice they'll ever make. This bagel did not make my cut. The bagel was definitely a step above the blueberry Thomas bagels you can get at the store - bigger, fluffier, more blueberries, more purple - but nothing about it stood out in comparison to Bagels Etc. or Bethesda Bagels.
I am so grateful that Cafe con Bagel considered the vegan community, and what follows is merely constructive criticism: The real grade-driver was the choking-hazard level amount of cream cheese that was put on the bagel. The cream cheese was reminiscent of Violife, taste so-so and dense af. There was like half a container of Violife (~3.5oz) in the bagel. Never thought I would be put in a position that made me want less cream cheese on a bagel but life is a box of chocolates I guess. My fellow vegan and confidant also believed there to be way too much cream cheese in his bagel. QED

As the name suggests the bagels are an afterthought. The coffee is decent but bagels are bottom 3 in DC. $28 for a sandwich and coffee? Certainly not worth what they charge.

Cafe con Bagel is such a sweet but tasty little shop. Since I am still pretty young I need to eat a lot of food but when I saw the portion size I was stunned because the bagels there are so big and so delicious. However, the cashier was so nice and funny. It is just lovely to be there. Nevertheless, since it is very tiny there are only limited amounts of seats. So if you want to eat inside you gotta be lucky that there is no one else in the shop.
Overall, it is a lovely place with great customer service. Definitely must go if you visit Georgetown ;)

Next time I’m in Georgetown, I will be on a strict diet of beef empanadas from this place. Holy cow.

Really enjoyed this place we came across today. I had a "Federal Chorizo" bagel, my wife ordered a custom one, we both really liked them ?
Plain black coffee was better than in most places (especially much better than in Tatte cafes, always so poorly made, days old at best ?).
Sitting is limited, but we got lucky and sat downstairs.
The weitress who was there today was super friendly and really helped us enjoy our visit to this Café. She deserves a pay rise as she surely gains customers over. Thanks very much!

Coffe is bad and they only fill your cup up half way if you get a large but the food is good
As a seasoned bagel roller from NYC, I was pleasantly surprised by this little bagel spot in Georgetown. I wanted to sample Washington's version of my beloved bagel, and I must say, they didn't disappoint. Their bagel merits a solid 4-star rating while their exemplary service truly stands out. In terms of cleanliness and ambiance, it was a delightful experience. A nice, clean, well-maintained eatery. I would confidently recommend it. In a nutshell, it was a satisfying culinary adventure in the country's capital. A must-visit spot for bagel lovers! ?

Lox (smoked salmon) on everything bagel and egg / lox on sesame were excellent. Basically you can build your own bagel and they have salmon, steak, eggs for protein. Coffee and hot chocolate were ok
