I grew up in Turkey and have had an itching craving for Simit for YEARS. During my trip to visit my best friend in DC, we stumbled upon this place and I naturally ordered their Simit. It was PERFECT! I highly recommend it.

Cafe Divan is a stronghold in D.C. The food is always solidly good, and service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is attractive, yet casual.
The fresh pita bread is some of the best we've ever had. The shepherd salad is fresh and very tasty. Lamb kofta is delicious, as is the donner kebab.
Parking can be difficult in the area. Give yourself extra time to find a spot.

Took FOREVER to get drinks (over 20 min) even food was coming out faster then the drinks. On top of that both of the drinks we ordered were so gross - should’ve just gone to Starbucks instead! Stay away!!

It was a horrible experience for us. We went over there with our friends for dinner. Service was horribly slow and they did not bring the correct food. After that we wanted to split the receipt. They did not let us to do it, and they forced us to put 20% tip for the horrible service. The Turkish guy over there (probably from the management) was literally staring us to put the 20% tip. But I did not put it. After we left I think he changed the tip amount because when I looked into my credit card expenses it realized much higher price than we put it. Horrible place, I am definitely not recommending this place. I won’t go again!

Avoid at all costs! They served rancid meat and tried to cover it with tons of spices.
Great food and service from Cavit amca! We had the iskender and döner which were amazing and had a great conversation with the owner. The döner is really authentic, highly recommend!
