My wife and I were looking for a place to while away the afternoon reading. We tried out Calabash and just had a really nice time. Great seating, great tea, nice folks. Couldn't have aske for more, and we'll definitely be back.

Fabulous atmosphere. Great vibes. Wonderful service. The My Last Good Nerve tea was delicious, as was the calming tonic shot. Definitely would be a repeat customer if I lived in the neighborhood. Small inside but huge outdoor patio.

Lovely spot. So excited I finally got a chance to visit this tea shop. Cute vibes. My Last Good Nerve tea is delicious! Calming tonic shots are good too. Good service. Would visit often if I lived nearby.

My husband and I were in the DC area and we had to visit Calabash Tea & Tonic while we were there. I'm so glad we did because we had the pleasure of meeting our fellow Knubian, Dr. Sunyatta Amen & her tea mates. Dr. Amen was very informative, kind, friendly, and just a beautiful person. We had her Spinach and Veggie Patties, which were delicious, and we also tried some of her awesome teas. The atmosphere was cozy and very comfortable. We could see that this was a popular place with all of her customers coming and going. Of course, we came home with some of her fabulous teas that we drink regularly. We wish you continued success, Dr. Amen ??.

It's a vibe....Had the pleasure of visiting DC from the Va Beach area and went to this tea room on 02/25/23. I did a little research online and saw the variety of teas so I was eager to go and I'm glad that I did. The atmosphere is warm, staff (herbalists) are friendly and knowledgeable. The owner, Dr. Sunyatta, was extremely welcoming and personable; she even greeted many customers by name which made the visit that much more pleasurable. I purchased the Triple Goddess and OcTEAvia but also experienced a hot cup of tea (made for me personally by Sunyatta) and had a sample of vegan sweet potato pie- both were amazing! This is more than your ordinary tea room/tea shop...this is culture, community, friends/family, relaxation, a place to unwind, grab a small bite or a soothing drink. If you're wondering if you should go...YEP you should or check out their products online. I will definitely be visiting again when in the area.

Forgot to write my review.?I finally got a chance to visit the infamous Calabash Tea and meet the beloved Sunyatta Amen. She was amazingly helpful. It was a long trip, but worth it!It took me a while to rest because of the long trip, but the atmosphere was so relaxing that I dozed off a couple of times while getting myself together. When I finally did get things together, I wanted some of everything.I bought all of the teas that I wanted to try that were discussed in Knubia. I also ordered the vegan BLT sandwich that was really good. I wanted to eat another one, but I knew that I would fall asleep if I did.? The Jamaican ginger sorrel was very refreshing. One thing that needed to be made clear was that I was going to be charged for the shots that I thought were samples; my tab was way more than I expected it to be because of that. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and looking forward to my next visit one day. I wish that it was closer to me so that I could visit more often.

Calabash Tea and Tonic is one of those spaces that always feels welcoming and warm. The store is an entire bohemian vibe that makes you feel instantly relaxed. Whenever I walk in it smells good and the staff are always open and calm.Last fall I started my tea journey. I didn’t have any real intentions beyond finding a good tea to drink that had turmeric and ginger. What happen was I feel in love with the love potion, Kwan Yin, Golden Milk Ginger Chai, Mandela’s Masala Chai, Octeavia and Tipple Goddess (I’m still learning how to make this one to my liking)But the most surprising result thus far is that since drinking all these teas, but especially the Chia’s is that I don’t have a taste for coffee anymore. I’ve been a coffee drinker since a teen. I used to drink a cup maybe two a day but since drinking Calabash’s tea’s I don’t have that “need for cup of coffee” anymore. Also, give the food a try. I’ve had the vegan BLT and veggie patties several times and they are delicious.Lastly, every time I’ve come into Calabash they treated my daughter with so much love and respect. Whenever she hears that I mommy has to stop buy Calabash to get my teas she lights up.

At Calabash Tea & Tonic each customer is given a warm reception. Recommendations for both food and beverage are expertly offered upon request based upon what you seek. Many customers purchased products for personal use as well as as gifts during my late December 2022 visit. This warm and inviting spot is a favored gathering location for locals to sip, chill, eat and relax and accommodates group gatherings as well.

A truly horrible and sad experience. Immediate rudeness from both the owner and another person working there. For a place that asks you to open up and tell them how you're feeling so they can choose a tea for you the exact opposite happened. After sharing, I was interested in something for pain and one clarifying question about teas the employee was annoyed out of nowhere and raised his voice, The owner was extremely judgmental, and assuming while barking at myself, and my friend about her veganism. It is not safe to tell anyone here what you're experiencing so they can help you pick a product. We were immediately met with nastiness. I highly recommend not coming here. Save your money for one of the many other places will you will be treated like a human being. I hope you and your staff learn how to truly embody what it means to be a tea shop that is supposed to be healing. You're rude, judgmental, nastiness is the exact opposite. You have the potential to be quite damaging to people.

I visited Calabash the other day and absolutely loved everything about it. The owner and the workers and so accommodating, warm and friendly, the atmosphere is super comfortable and homelike, comfortable furniture and good music. I tried a lions mane/maca blend latte recommended by the owner for brain fog and it genuinely helped. The food is amazing and healthy. When you leave you feel refreshed and replenished. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for a home away from home to heal or maybe even get some work done.

What a vibe! I was not prepared for how much I'd like this spot. Came in for a tea to go (person behind the counter was SUPER helpful, btw), left with a bag of tea for the fall season and some soap. Can't wait to come back and try more. In the meantime, I'm going to shop the online store!

I’ve been a Calabash customer for years and they always deliver on their promise to help me heal. Didn’t know it healing could taste so good, but I love this place. My personal favorite of the Big Poppa tea and that Vegan BLT. My goodness, I could eat those every day. While the shop is a little hike from my home, the online experience keeps me full between visits. Great prices, wide selection and quick shipping. Appreciate y’all, family! Thank you.

We've loved Calabash since the moment we moved to NE D.C. It is a lovely, cozy, and fresh spot in our community. When we learned that they had done wedding favors in the past, we were so excited. We hadn't planned to do any favors, but Calabash seemed like the perfect gift to share with guests. We did a black tea with roses, similar to Persian tea I grew up with, which was custom. They also let us choose the tea bags and create the label - which we added a custom Spotify QR code to! Our guests LOVED it and we are so grateful for the work Calabash's team put in to get these favors to us in Ohio!
