The food wasn’t warm enough which made it unpleasant to eat.

I’ve been here a few times, for dinner and drinks. It’s a little loud but the atmosphere is great. The food is not top notch but the cuisine is inventive. Make a reservation and check them out!

One of our favorite dining experiences in DC recently. The food was incredible, and we got a bunch of it. Cocktails were delicious, got our kid a mocktail which he loved, and a bottle of the orange Portuguese wine… fabulous. And desert is as rich as it gets, flan and mousse! The team and Cana is attentive (maybe even overly so considering the small space). My only knock would be the 2 hour time limit. We like to order tons of food and wine, so 2 hours just doesn’t cut it for us, and it sucks to have other guests standing right next to the table, waiting for us to be done. For the cost, I’d rather take my time, but that’s just me :)

Such a charming little spot! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it was my first time trying Brazilian food & it did not disappoint. We ordered the broccoli rice and yuca as sides, and both went perfectly with the wagyu picanha steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, beautifully plated, and melted in our mouths with every bite. Everything was full of flavor and felt thoughtfully prepared. Definitely coming back for more!
10s across the board. The service was impeccable and the food was just as amazing. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating for food allergies (gluten and dairy for me) and the servers were also helpful as well in explaining all the dishes. Drinks were so good too, can’t say enough to how amazing it was! Thank you thank you!

What a fantastic experience! The service was fast and polite, the food was delicious, and the entire place had a great vibe. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, and the portions were just right. You can tell they really care about quality. Definitely a spot I’ll be recommending to friends!

The restaurant and food are beautiful, and the server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. With that being said, I found the food to be overpriced for what you get. It also rubbed me the wrong way that we had a reservation for 2 pm, we showed up even a few minutes early, and around 2:50 we were already starting to feel like we were rushed out. I work in the service industry and understand you're getting ready for the transition between brunch/lunch and dinner, but giving us only 50 minutes before pushing us to go is ridiculous, especially if we were just sitting at the bar and already finished ordering.
That's another thing- there were tons of open tables and we were sat at the bar automatically without being asked about our preference. I am used to the bar only being offered if there are no other tables, but this was not the case at the time. My friend and I were celebrating a special occasion and it would have been nice to have a private place to sit rather than being squished between others at the bar.

I've been to Cana a few times and really enjoyed my experiences in the past, but this most recent time felt different. The menu has changed pretty drastically, and I feel the complexity of the dishes and portion sizes have really gone down. I really miss the peixe crudo, and the pulpo is now a single small piece. Everything looks to be a few dollars more expensive on the menu despite being smaller portions, and I feel the quality and plating has really gone down. I still enjoy coming here for drinks, but am really disappointed with the direction of the menu.
