Went here last night for the first time and loved it! We got super lucky as walk-ins and managed to snag a table (the chef's counter at that!!), but they were otherwise fully booked, so definitely make a reservation, especially on a weekend night. The place is tiny and super cute. The staff, from the host to the cooks to the bartenders and servers, were all so nice. I kept saying the place had such a relaxed vibe. Even though they were totally full, no one seemed stressed or in a hurry, and it was just really nice. They have a few tables for groups, but I think it’s the perfect spot for a two-person date night. We liked everything we ordered, including the heart of palm salad and the hen. But the real standouts were the tapioca cheese bites, the duck croquettes, and the 10 oz steak. The caipirinhas were great—mine (the original) was nice, and my husband got the passion fruit flavor, which was sweeter and he loved it. The chef was also super kind and offered us complimentary bread and a shrimp dish. Everything was excellent, and I’m already looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu!

The food was delicious but my feijoada had one rib and one bite of sausage so I paid 30+ for beans, rice and farofa. The picanha was 10/10 though.

I absolutely loved CANA! The atmosphere was amazing - live music, dimmed lights, and such a warm, inviting vibe. Everything felt so well put together, from the decor to how clean the space was. The staff were great, the food was delicious, and the drinks were very tasty (though it was my first time in D.C. experiencing that much ice in a drink - next time I’ll just ask for less).
Overall, it was such a fun and cozy spot to spend the evening, and I’ll definitely be coming back! 🎶🍹✨

I've been before for drinks and the after hours DJ sessions, which are fire. I had dinner tonight and the appetizers were amazing and the picanha was so tender and juicy I couldn't believe it was cooked right in front of me. Cana is a must if you are visiting DC!

Our waiter Jonathan was fantastic! Came here for my dad's retirement celebration and did not disappoint - one of our favorite meals we've had in DC. Service and atmosphere were superb, drinks were balanced, and the food was perfect for exploring and sharing. Will definitely be back - get the flan.
Would have given all 5 stars but had an unpleasant experience. Sat at the bar for about 30-45 minutes. A group of 6 yte folks walked in and was asked to move my seat. The tone of the guy who asked me to move was very offensive and racial. Heard him saying some very negative things about me afterwards. Don't inconvenience a person of color to placate yte folk.

I came in for my birthday instead at the bar. Max was my bartender. He was absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful experience beautiful bar! I mean look at this face :) top tier please come!!

I just finished my first block medical school and wanted to split a drink with my girlfriend so I ordered a Caju Amigo ($18/drink on the menu). I ordered a double so we could split it and when I got the bill back, I noticed I was charged around $49 for the drink which doesn’t make sense since 2 caju amigos, if charged completely separate, would be ~$36 + tax/tip ($18x2=$36). As a result, I did not feel good about the interaction with the bartender despite really enjoying the atmosphere, the drink, and music. I felt slightly taken advantage of and I hope they are more fair to other customers in the future.
