This place makes you wait outside after being told by a third rate host. Don’t go. They make you wait forever after being told the wait is “10 minutes.” They also lock the door for those who come in after 8pm. Ridiculous!

Late posting this review but had to pay my gratitude for this gem of a restaurant. Within 2 minutes of sitting down, I accidentally lit my menu on fire with the candle. Looking back on it, i think it was symbolic because everything we ate and drank was fire. The maracuja caipriniha was probably best cocktail I've had in DC. Octopus and char broil steak were so good, would definitely order those again.

Amazing Vibes, Incredible Service!

Bar Cana is hands down one of the best spots in Adams Morgan! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric, the drinks are top-notch, and the service is unbeatable. Big shoutout to Nico, Ivan, and William—these guys are absolute rock stars! They go above and beyond to make sure every guest has an unforgettable experience.

I came to Cana as a referral from a Brazilian who was very excited about the open! I was excited because I love trying new foods, being exposed to new cultures, and luxurious experiences. Given all of that, I would recommend this place as a stop to something else or as a main stop for someone who is not used to doing the above! The atmosphere is fantastic, I enjoyed the vibes, and the cozy space and design. The food was mid level and we tried 4-5 dishes there. The cocktails were also ok.

Had my best DC dining experience in recent memory at Bar Cana last week! The salada de palmito and peixe cru were highlights of the small plates menu — both were inventive and so delicious. I woke up the next morning thinking about the incredible waygu picanha. And I don’t know the name, but the chocolate truffle desserts were to die for. Overall, the food, service, cocktails, and ambiance were all 10/10. Hats off to the chef and team for making Cana a must-try destination in just a few months.

My wife and I cannot stop talking about how good our dinner at Cana was. Every dish (we ordered about ten) was unique, balanced, and bursting with flavor. I want to particularly shout out the picanha, palmito salad, pork belly, and hamache crudo. WOW!!! The service and atmosphere were top-notch. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely little spot, really hospitable and warm staff. Food was excellent, drinks were fantastic, ambiance is second to none. Really enjoyed my time here.

Reminds you of a cocktail bar bond would drink at.

I look forward to coming back, well worth the price and trip to AdMo.

Literally the best flan I've ever had.

An amazing place to have dinner and drinks.

The ambiance and atmosphere were perfect, including the Brazilian music, retro decor and friendly servers.

We sat at the bar with a view of the open kitchen. Chef Max does a great job with plating and presentation for each dish.

The duck coxinhas were a unique and tasty version of a popular Brazilian food. The picanha was cooked perfectly and went very well with the broccoli rice side.

A perfect restaurant for people wanting a fun and unique night out while experiencing a slice of Brazilian culture.

Love the food at this place so much I had to leave a review!! The picanha was cooked perfectly—so tender and packed with flavor. I’d definitely recommend getting it with the broccoli rice, the cheese bread, cod croquettes, torresmo, and the tomato vinaigrette. We also shared the octopus, which was a 10/10—super tender and so flavorful.

And the flan is easily one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so good I seriously thought about ordering a second one.

All of the drinks were also so good. You can tell they have very talented bartenders and the drinks are a work of art.

The vibe of the place is awesome—trendy but still really welcoming. Can’t wait to be back!!! Also, there was a record DJ Saturday night. Such a fun night!

I loved our dinner at Bar Cana! The uplifting vibe, complete with a vinyl DJ, made for such a unique experience. The food was delicious and authentically Brazilian, and the cocktails were so good it was hard to choose just one. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the night even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Excellent experience all-around, glad we braved the cold weather for a superb meal, cool ambience and strong service.

They have a limited but well curated menu of small, medium and large plates, all designed to share. The items we tried got progressively better from good to great as went from small to large plates:

PíO DE ALHO Sourdough Bread with Garlic, Parmesan & Parsley Butter - a delicious bread course with delicate shavings of parmesan

BOLINHO DE BACALHAU Spanish Style Salt Cod Croquetas - excellent cod flavor in each tender savory bite

SALADA DE PALMITO Heart of Palm & Charred Avocado Salad with Mango Leche de Tigre - billed as a mango ceviche, this stood out as one of the more unique preparations with equally solid flavor and texture

CARNE DE ONÇA Handcut Picanha Tartare with Charred Onions, Chives and a Dende Aioli - on the best tartare's I've ever had, tender beef with a creamy sauce that created an otherworldly flavor with bite

TORRESMO Crispy Pork Belly, Lime & Maracuja Aioli, Salsa Criolla - probably the only disappointment, it lacked any salty flavor or any tenderness, it was rock solid dried pork belly

FRANGO À PASSARINHO Fried Cornish Hen with Parsely & Lime - served like little fried drummette and individual tenders, the chicken was succulent and flavorful, and the creamy sauce was a nice complement

LINGUIÇA ACEBOLADA Pork Sausage & Sauted Pickled Onions with Yucca Puree - probably my favorite dish, just a robust flavor with caramelized onions blended into the yucca puree, and the sausage was tender and delicious on its own. Indelible.

POLVO Charred Octopus with Crispy Yucca Bolinhos & Pirao Sauce - solid octopus dish if not particularly remarkable

PICANHA Charcoal Grilled 10oz Roseda Farm Prime Steak, Farofa - excellent medium rare cuts of steak, I loved pairing it with their pepper hot sauce, which added a Tabasco like tang to the well grilled meat.

For dessert, we had the flan served with a generous dollop of salted chocolate. Sublime.

Cocktails were well crafted and presented.

We sat in the little alcove to the left of the entrance, at a long bar table, with a stack of classic vinyl records behind us. Very cool vibe.
