Capital Doner ( Shawarma - Gyro)

We just ate a late lunch here and it was an awesome experience. The food was fantastic and the service was super friendly. We got the Iskender Kebap, beef sandwhich, and chicken pita and all were fantastic.

We came all the way from Kalamazoo, Michigan, to visit Washington, D.C., and decided to stop by Capital Doner – and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions we made on this trip!

I can confidently say this is the best doner I’ve ever had in the U.S. The flavors took me right back home, to Azerbaijan, with every bite tasting just as authentic as I remember. The meat was perfectly seasoned, the bread fresh and soft, and the sauces were spot on.

What made the experience even better was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner and staff treated us like family, making us feel right at home. Their passion for serving authentic, high-quality food truly shines through.

Perfect doner. Rich flavor. Friendly and welcoming.

This appears to be a family run restaurant; on the smaller side, homely and welcoming. The shawarma was cut directly from the rotisserie, and tasted amazing. Staff members were friendly, and willing to make recommendations to my partner and I.

I would highly recommend this restaurant, and will be going again.
