Captain Cookie & the Milkman

Had a good experience there. Good cookies, and desserts. And good customer service. Mina is very sweet and jovial.

Walked in last night and the employee looked annoyed that we walked in. She had her phone out the whole time and even took a picture of our group to show her friend. She refused to make a shake because she had “just cleaned the machine”. The store was open for hours after so I don’t know why that was relevant. She let a customer in the kitchen to wash their hands and then complained when another one entered to wash their hands as well. One of the most memorable ice cream experiences… for bad reasons. Gave it another chance tonight with some friends and the door was locked because the worker was outside taking a break for 20min. I ended up taking my group to a really nice spot in the building next door.

We visited Captain Cookie two nights in a row while in DC and were very disappointed with the customer service both times.

On our first visit, an employee refused to make milkshakes because she had “just cleaned the machine,” even though the shop was still open for another four hours. We were also told they were out of vanilla ice cream, despite a full 5-gallon container clearly visible in the freezer.

We gave it another chance the following night, but the experience was even more concerning. A staff member left the business, locked the door while it was still supposed to be open, and returned about 20 minutes later appearing and smelling impaired.

It’s frustrating when one staff member can have such a negative impact on a brand. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, we won’t be returning.

IMPORTANT!! This is my second experience with captain cookie. The first time I entered this shop we were met with numerous problems. 1. We were given troubles for ordering chocolate ice cream. 2. We were denied milkshakes because the woman working didn’t feel like making them.
3. One person I. Our group was denied vanilla ice cream, then the person in the next group was given vanilla.
Our group decided to try again the next night and was met with the “OPEN” shop being locked and the worker hiding upstairs. We also tried calling but the phones were not working. We finally got inside and I ordered a shake to make up for the previous night. The worker proceeded to blend it for a very long time, to the point my shake was so thin and honestly so mediocre. When our group finally finished ordering and receiving our ice cream, we left and the worker quickly locked the doors again.
Overall i would not recommend this ice-cream shop if you are looking for good ice-cream there is a nicer shop just around the corner

in the website say it's open but when I came to the restaurant it's closed

Walked in yesterday and there was an unpleasant guy working who said nothing to me when I walked in but immediately greeted a group of white students who came in right after me. I still purchased my cookie but I left feeling very upset. He should treat all customers with the same level of customer service.

What a great surprise! Yummy cookies, and delicious ice cream. I wish we had these in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Gianna is the best!! She has great customer service skills and I enjoy her, as I frequent this shop. Try this restaurant! :)

I had such a great experience at Captain Cookie today! The cashier, Casey, was super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. she was patient while I decided what to get and even gave me great recommendations. The service was quick, and my cookies came out fresh and delicious. Casey’s positive energy really made the visit even better definitely coming back soon!
