Never in our lives have we spent what we spent on this meal and left actively hungry. Honestly, I’m floored at how tiny the portions were. Our main dish was a three-square-inch piece of fish. The other main dish was a few tiny pieces of fried fish over 2 yuca fries. From starters to dessert, having eaten everything, we might have taken 5 bites per person, total. Flavors were mediocre at best, and had a fast-casual feel to it - heavy reliance on thick and syrupy or mayo-based sauces, etc.

We’ve been eyeing this place for a while, and had high expectations, especially hearing that the chef received the James Beard. We hardly got any service (they automatically tack on the 20%), nobody asked how things were going during the meal or if we needed anything else, nobody gave us recommendations. Last but not least, the music/noise level was insanely loud. This was neither a pleasant dining experience nor did it satisfy the basic needs of a meal, which is to help you become, at the very least, not hungry.

I understand that the economy is rough, costs are high, and owning a restaurant is hard. But it’s hard for us, too, as consumers who also work hard and put a lot of time/money/energy into a decision to have a nice meal out. There is a point where shrink-flation and compromising quality of services becomes disrespectful. Really disappointing, and recommend anyone reading this to select somewhere else.

Couldn’t find RW pricing after looking into it on the website so called to inquire only to get hung up abruptly by the employee. She kept telling me to look for it online, I clarified that I checked but couldn’t find, then just hung up on me for not knowing… Didn’t know asking someone else/checking with managers was that hard. Shame for being a Michelin-starred restaurant.

this is for amazonia, not causa: honestly i have nothing nice to say. food was fine, nothing worth nearly as much as what we paid for. and service was genuinely so bad it was hilarious. we were a table of 5-6 and the waiter was not only unhelpful but also straight up unprofessional. didn’t know about half the menu. kept telling us what to drink without asking for our preferences then insisting his taste was better? i also have a fairly mild allergy, and the restaurant refused to accommodate me citing that “it’s a peruvian restaurant.” i’m peruvian lol.

Food was fire 😋
All the skewers slapped
Their Papa a la Huancaína looked way fancier than the traditional one, and tasted better too. Total upgrade.

The food was excellent. Each dish and drink tasted different and had their own personality. The staff was also very helpful and accommodating the whole night

The portions were so small. We spent $120 per person and left so hungry, and this is from someone who is nowhere near being overweight. The tiny portions made my romantic birthday celebration frustrating given that we ordered plate after plate and so little food came. We literally left this place, paying $120 per person, and got a second dinner at another restaurant nearby to actually fill our stomachs. In terms of the actual restaurant, the service was good (our server was very professional and attentive), but the dining room window nooks in the rear dining hall were covered in dust and the fake plants took away from the elegance. In short, we're not coming back and not recommending this place to any of our friends, unfortunately.

Absolutely atrocious for large parties. Arrived with a group of 15 with a pre-set group dinner. 3 hours and 15 minutes later, we requested to end the dinner short and skip dessert as most of our party was miserable. Clearly they had kitchen issues, but instead of communicating, our group waited and waited and waited… When entrees were eventually dropped (2.5 hours in), the server failed to deliver utensils, so we stared at the entrees and waited another 10 minutes until someone could flag someone to beg for silverware. Overall, it was laughably bad and insultingly expensive for the price paid.

Spacious, Beautiful interior. For being upscale personnel are down to earth. Menu is hit and miss, some are worth returning and some belong in a mom and pop takeout, but then again taste is subjective

Excellent marks all around. The service was top notch - attentive and knowledgeable without being stuffy. The food was lovely - particularly notable were the cebiche clasico (mahi mahi the night I went) and the bluefin tuna sashimi they had on special. The cocktails were lovely as well, and the space was super cool. Highly recommended!

This post is for Amazonia,, which is their second-floor restaurant. We had an awesome experience here with great service, delicious food, unique cocktails, and wonderful ambiance.

You'll be hard-pressed to come across a more unique, varied list of cocktails. If you like to dabble is pisco, this is your spot. You can't go wrong with the classic pisco sour and the chancaca old fashioned.

For food, we got salmon and filet mignon skewers, ceviche nikkei, ensalada de chonta, chaufa putumayo, and lomo saltado. I'd say the top three of the experience were the ceviche , chaufa , and lomo saltado. If this means nothing to you then no worries--just check out the menu to learn more.

The one thing I'd advise to the restaurant is to make a bit more clear about how the cold market and fish menu work up front. It was a bit confusing as to the difference between how that menu and the regular menu work.

Highly recommend!

The location is not an easy find. I had to stop and ask someone. Kind of down and alley.

If more than a one person be sure to make a reservation.

Carlos was my server and he was great.

I started with an Inka Kola.

Ordered the Ensalada de Chonta. It was very good. The flavor was great.

I then ordered the Lomo Saltado. They had a different spoon with roasted Yukon potatoes. Best Lomo Saltado i have had during my stay in DC. The other difference was that the beef was Wagyu.
