Really slow service - dishes took long times to arrived with no explanation from server on what's taking so long or updating on when to expect anything. Took 2+ hours for a meal for 2 Food was not as expected other than the entrees. Seemed bad value and temperatures were not very hot for the warm food. Ambience was awful - other diners were yelling, being extremely loud to the point at which I had a headache and wanted the service to be expedited to leave ASAP (which didn't occur) Would not recommend to others and definitely feel no desire to return, very disappointing experience

The food and drinks were fantastic and remarkably priced for the quality. While not a cheap restaurant, one of the highest value dining experiences I've had in the DC area. My one and only complaint is that it was too loud. I struggled to hear both my server and my date. Other than that, a wonderful experience.

Celebrated my girlfriend's birthday. We had an amazing experience, friendly staff and great food. 10/10

Have been to Amazonia and causa numerous times, however this time was wildly different. Service was not the best. But the biggest problem was the temperature. There were heaters above but nothing below and we were absolutely freezing. Our feet were absolutely ice by the end of the dinner. Super disappointing

We celebrated my 28th birthday at this restaurant and it was our first time trying Peruvian food. The dishes were great and very unique. This is an excellent place for elevating your taste buds and going on a cultural journey. Highly recommend it! The server was very friendly and also surprised me with complimentary gelato and candle on top! Thank you to the staff at Amazonia for a wonderful time.

Beautiful space - designs representing elements of the Amazon everywhere. The food was overall very good, especially the Maduritos and the catfish sandwich starter. The main disappointment was the service; there was way too much attention from the busser filling water glasses barely touched, interfering with our conversation and plates came out too quickly (it was restaurant week) so we felt very rushed. On the other hand, after I said something, they slowed down the service and asked if we were ready for the next course from then on.

The food was amazing, my favorite was the chocolate cake and pan con pescado, we will be going back again

Our dining experience with Michael was incredible. His story, the food, the pisco collection, everything was outstanding.

Michael, our server, was top notch and personable. We felt right at home. Delicious cocktails and food.

We arrived almost half an hour early for our reservation and expected to just grab a drink at the bar while we waited for our table, but the staff were able to just bump up our reservation and directly seat us, which was nice. We went for restaurant week and the menu was very expansive in comparison to a lot of other restaurants. Truly a ton of options. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about every inch of the menu, which was helpful in explaining some of the ingredients that we weren't familiar with. The only minor downside was that it did get a bit loud in the room, but never to the point where I felt like I had to yell to be heard. Though, it could have also been because we were seated next to a large group. Highlights from the menu that we ordered (some of this may only be available on the restaurant week menu, at least as of posting this review): 1. Ocopa cocktail (very easy to drink) 2. Chicken thigh anticuchos (flavorful, tender, juicy) 3. Brussel sprout antichuchos (they definitely picked the best brussel sprouts) 4. Ensalada de chonta (refreshing, crunchy, a great salad for people who aren't salad-people) 5. Chaufa putumayo (possibly the best fried rice I've ever had) 6. Chazuta (if you like fruit and ice cream, it was worth the supplemental cost) 7. Texturas de guanabana (I saw a lot of people ordering this one, which was an interesting mix of ice cream and topping flavors) If Amazonia is this good, Causa (their sister, Michelin-starred restaurant downstairs) must be amazing. I'll definitely be adding Amazonia to my "must go back list" and Causa to my "must try" list!

had a high expectation, food was solid but not very creative, could be the resteraunt week menu design. Service was poor, no dish intro or recommendations, yet a mandatory 20% service charge.

Went back to Amazonia after our first visit a few months ago. Tried the restaurant week deal to try multiple things we didn't have the first time and it didn't disappoint.

We went to Amazonia during restaurant week so it was more affordable. The food is outstanding! The service was impeccable. Lovely atmosphere too. Definitely going on my favorites list!

Excellent Peruvian food. Would recommend to those looking for a calm date spot or dinner with friends.

Food quality was very good. Service at the table was excellent. The only negative was the inability to reserve a table inside even 2 weeks prior to the dinner while during our visit I observed multiple available tables. It was very cold on the patio upstairs despite heaters and blankets but tables inside or even further away from the street on the patio were not offered to anyone during our entire 2 and a half hour visit. I am perplexed why.
