Dear Daughter and I went to Charlie Palmers for a leisurely lunch before leaving the DC area. The restaurant was selected solely based on reviews. The reviews were dead on! The staff is professional and accommodating from the moment we entered the door. They have a secure area to hold luggage for those who may need it. Lunch was an order of the filet mignon with lobster (shell removed in the kitchen. Thank you!) and a steak salad. The steak in the salad was the best filet mignon I've ever had! The cocktails are well made and have generous portions. It was lunchtime and the noise level was low. I don't recall overhead musis and sounds did not carry from table to table. Overall. this was exactly what we needed before a long day of travel and to say adieu. I would certainly go hear again when in the area.
Wow! Had reservation for dinner and unfortunately we had made it for 8 people when we brought 11. They had a table waiting for 8 and quickly put another grouping of tables together for our 11 party. They were fast and efficient and very kind. The service staff was fabulous throughout our dining experience. The food was very, very yummy and the chef came out and visited with all of us. The icing on the cake was dining room manager, Lewis Mckisset. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience the best ever. Charlie Palmer Steakhouse is blessed to have him. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

8/30/24 My Wife and I came from out of town and found Charlie Palmer Steak on a last min decision for dinner. We were greeted by Manger Lewis. I have to point out how welcome we felt right when we walked in until we left for the night. The entire staff there is professional and is certainly worth acknowledging on how great they are. The steaks are so good here! We we’ll definitely see you guys next time we are in DC.

We celebrated my husband’s 34th birthday here for dinner tonight and it was great. From being warmly greeted by the hostess, to the attentiveness of our server Julissa, to the exceptional service and conversation of Manager, Lewis - all of this being the cherry on top to a delicious meal! The lobster linguine was yummy and the hanger steak was cooked divinely. Charlie Palmer is a must if you're in the DC area -We will definitely be back!!

I was excited to try Charlie Palmer, given its high rating among DC steakhouses, but I left disappointed. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is polite, but the meal didn’t live up to expectations. They served A1 sauce with our Australian Wagyu and bone-in ribeye, which seemed out of place for a high-end steakhouse. The steaks were also oddly pre-cut—why do that at a place known for its steaks? At least they were cooked to medium as requested. Overall, it was just okay, but not worth a special trip back.

It was such a pleasure to work with Nicole on planning a client’s event in one week. I called in a panic - hoping they could host a 100 person event. Nicole shared the private rooms were booked, but she could close the main dining room and host the party. She quickly created a menu, helped me make arrangements with her preferred vendors for decor and we finalized in 2 days.
The service impeccable and the food delicious!! The pasta bar and raw bar display were huge hits!
A special shoutout to Lamar - bartender extraordinaire - for saving the day and providing a cord to our AV team!!

Stopped by here before my train to NY. There were 3 bartenders on Monday with only a few customers. Black tall bartender was responding rudely with a smirk and weird comments. I felt judge bc I was not a male in a suit like others there. I would not expect such inappropriate service at the restaurant like this. Short Spanish guy was very attentive though. Food was normal for a steak house.

Lamar rocks! He is the reason we come in. He delivers a higher level of service and if he were to leave, CP DC wouldn’t be the same.

I was really looking forward to dining at Charlie Palmer, given its reputation as one of the top-rated steak restaurants in the DC area. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. To start with the positives, the restaurant itself is sparkling clean, and the wait staff is polite and attentive. However, the meal was where things fell flat. We ordered the Australian Wagyu and the bone-in ribeye, both highly recommended cuts. To my surprise, they brought out A1 sauce with these premium steaks. I don't expect a steakhouse of this caliber to serve A1 sauce—this isn't the Roadhouse Grill. The focus should be on the quality of the meat itself. Another odd choice was that the steaks were pre-cut before they were served. Why would a high-end steakhouse pre-cut their steaks? It detracts from the experience of cutting into a perfectly cooked piece of meat yourself, and it felt like a strange decision for a place that is supposed to celebrate its steaks. On the plus side, the steaks were cooked to medium as we requested, but beyond that, there was nothing extraordinary about them. Overall, the experience was just okay, but not one that I'd go out of my way to repeat.
Celebrated our anniversary here Friday night. Service was great, food was amazing, dining manager Lewis was super personable! We ordered the ribeye & crab cake entrees - both were great. Will def be back for another celebration!
We had a wonderful evening with a large party (Glenn Kirschner’s) last week. Service was incredible, even with such a large group, and all the food was delicious. Also had a wonderful interaction during our visit with Dining Room Manager Lewis McKisset – he made sure everything was perfect and all our needs were met. Including checking with each of us as we left for the evening. I will be sure to visit the next time I’m in DC.
