We had a fantastic time at Chez Billy Sud, very friendly and efficient staff, nice decoration, charming place. This place is located in the middle of Georgetown, in a historic house, so it is small, and that makes it even more special. We knew the food was going to be amazing once we tried the baguette with butter, crunchy but not burned, soft on the inside but not mushy, perfect level of salt. The butter will make you think twice next time you go to the supermarket, the quality is superb. We had the Chicken Liver Mousse and the Pate Maison to start, both at amazing taste, great presentation, and they were the right amount of food. Highly recommend both. For entrees we had the Scottish Salmon, and the Steak Frites. Salmon was cooked perfectly, was presented with a sauce with lemon or lime that made it taste even better. The steak was so good that I ate the leftovers the following day, cold with my bare hands, very primal. The taste was even better the following day. Leftovers were supposed to be for my dog by the way... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

As always the food is perfectly executed and delicious. What sets this place apart though is the service. Always attentive and welcoming, never rushing. Just one of the best restaurants in DC. Every time I go, I wonder why I waited so long to return!

Food was wonderful as always, and Juan provided outstanding service ! We'll ask for him in the future!

arrived early & got favorite table and then great service from Fluke (s true professional). He helped—as diplomatically as possible--me pick a much better wine than my first impulse (even brought a sample of both to help me choose—ended up with a fine Gamay from Beaujolais, a little like pinot noir; salad: batteraves (beet) minced & interestingly pickled(?) & accompanied by minced vegetables(?). K found her Loup de Mer (Sea Bass)—excellent; I had bouillabaisse (moules-frites) with mussels that were unusually plump: they had no special flavor but great broth and needed the French fries to accompany it. Nice desert of Creme Broulee for K (but could have been more firm) & green Chartreuse for me was a sweet finish for a great meal.

Always great food, great service- and you can always have a conversation at the table. Definitely one of our faves in DC.

We had our New Year's Eve dinner with Marisa as our server and had a blast. She was very knowledgeable and she made sure we had the best time. Thank you Marisa!

Can only recommend the place - have been there 3 times in last weeks and quality of food and service was always excellent

The food for our party of four was just okay and not worth the high prices charged. The service was spotty--dishes served without the proper utensils to eat them. Items forgotten which required a return to the kitchen. Overall, this restaurant is overrated in the guidebooks. I visit DC regularly on business and will not return. There are many other restaurants that are much better for the same or less $$

Tasty brunch spot in Georgetown. Would recommend: onion soup and steak tartar. Omelette was a bit overcooked.

One word: overrated. I dined here last week with a group of four. We ordered the sea bass, burger, mussels, and salmon. The prawn croquettes appetizer was actually quite good, which earned this place two stars from me. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes didn’t leave much of an impression — everything was just okay, nothing memorable.

If you’re looking for authentic French cuisine, there are better options in the area. The setting was pleasant, the service was inattentive, and the food didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Delightful French restaurant in downtown DC! I got the Salmon as main dish, and it was perfection! Not overcooked, balanced flavor profile, and a sauce that complemented the fish perfectly.

Crème brûlée was the real deal! And I know as my father is a classically trained French chef, and I often order crème brûlée to try to find one that matches my father’s, and this one did!
