THE MOST AMAZING CAFE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!! Seriously cannot recommend this place more highly, the staff is so friendly, the vibes are perfect for hanging out, studying, chatting, WHATEVER, and the drinks and food should be MICHELIN-RATED, they're that good. I've never been to a cafe with better drinks and food, or restaurants for that matter. They're also always doing fun things on different days like hosting DJ's, celebrity and NBA player jersey signings (I met Winnie Harlow there one time!!), holiday giveaways, etc., and they're always coming out with new menu items based on the season and what their head chef creates (he's super creative and talented)! Please please please check it out, you will not regret it.

I was so excited when Childhood Cafe opened two years ago, and it hasn’t disappointed! I love the local vibe, great coffee, and the young staff is always so friendly. It’s the perfect spot!

Great coffee, nasty attitudes. The Gen Z stare is strong at this one, unless they’re passive aggressively fighting each other.

Friendly staff, delicious pastries, sometimes a DJ, limited seating - you really can't go wrong here.

We ordered the seasonal drinks: berry cobbler latte and the black salted maple matcha latte. We were severely disappointed to find the drinks tasted like regular lattes. I could not find the berry notes or the buttery crumble that they described.

Would have given them 5 stars but their bagel sandwich was not great :/
Their drinks are super tasty & most of the pastries are awesome! Love the pumpkin bread especially. And they have house-made syrups yum!
But the bagel on that sandwich was thin and soggy and the egg was super overcooked 😞

i LOVE this place. I come here when I’m in town for work and it’s by far the best place in DC to get coffee.
The ambiance is amazing- I have logged into remote work from here and it was amazing. The place is so cute and they always have fun interactive questions on their chalkboard.
The food is delicious- I have never had anything bad. A lot of their food is baked right in the back and is fresh and warm at all times of day.
The best part of Childhood cafe is the service. All the baristas are personable, friendly and approachable. They were knowledgeable about the drinks and prices, especially Alex and Lily. Sam served me and made my drinks and he was so funny and sweet. Jane is the manager and she made the experience easy and so much fun- she had impeccable recommendations.
I would recommend this cafe to all my friends!

Iced brown expresso was great. Pumpkin and banana bread is moist and flavorful. Bacon and cheddar quiche. Staff were chill and friendly.

The coffee was good, but I did not have a good customer service experience. There’s limited seating in the cafe, and I had just unpacked my laptop when a barista came and told me in a rude tone that I couldn’t have a seat because “someone was sitting there.” In reality, the barista wanted to use the empty seating space to film content for the cafe’s social media. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I would return for the pastries. However, not so much the coffee. I tried the Apple Butter Jam iced latte, and there was nothing 🍎 about it. 🫤

Wanted to try this cafe on my trip to visiting my sister and happy we did! Loved their in-house pop tart, it was super yummy and their quiche was filling. Liked how they had a bunch of pastries and different versions of quiches to pick from. The inside it small and there isn't too much seating, but they do have outdoor seating with umbrellas and we decided to sit out there despite it being on the chillier side. Good cold brew, wish I was able to try some of their specials, but at the time they were reorganizing the sign so I didn't see it up when ordering. Very popular as a lot of people were coming in and out on a Sunday!!

I came by on a busy Saturday morning and there was a line out the door. In a very condescending tone, the baristas kept raising their voice at people and telling them to close the door while they were holding the door open for people to come in and out. It felt like they didn’t want their own customers to be there.
The iced shaken espresso was pretty average, 5/10.

Incredible drinks, amazing pastries, you have to make this your go to neighborhood cafe. Cannot recommend enough! Especially recommend the strawberry matcha - not too sweet and the perfect amount of strawberry.
