Please note before you go, they no longer have an option for sit-down tea. The person working the desk communicated the new situation (rather abruptly) and complained to another person that they have to tell people "100 times a day" now. Kind of a shock and unfortunate since it was such a great place to sit down for a cup or pot of tea and they used to have great table service. It's only a space for the store now and they continue to have a wide selection of tea leaves and accoutrements, it seems.I haven't seen anything about the new situation on the Google site and there was no signage at the store to explain (that I could see). So I'm writing this so people can know before going. There was signage for expanded store hours so hopefully Google updates those soon.

The tea here is AMAZING. We have honestly had a hard time finding good quality teas, locally and online, and this place has always had the best. We love coming in for a relaxing tea experience and trying new ones! Please note: they have moved to a new location in DC and are no longer serving food but they can’t take down previous Google photos reviews from the Georgetown location. Also consider calling to confirm the hours that day as it seems they are still getting situated in the new space. The owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The space is small, but peaceful and inviting. You can also buy loose teas and accessories to recreate the experience at home.

Such a cute place especially for a cold day to enjoy some delicious tea and have a fun activity. Each tea comes with its own ways of drinking the tea and they’re very helpful and show you how to use all the different beautiful teapots. It is definitely expensive per person so come prepared for that and they no longer serve food in their new location but we had a great time!

Love what this place delivers. Lovely service. Great respite in crazy DC. Georgetown’s loss is DuPont’s gain.

This is a small shop with a lot of beautiful and overpriced teaware and loose leaf tea. We didn't feel very welcome here. I'm pretty sure it was because we were both men. Upon entering, I heard her say to someone, "there's a lot of men here today." We browsed her store because she didn't welcome us or provide information about how she ran her shop. Finally she paused her side conversation long enough to ask us if we were staying for tea because we had "browsed her entire store." We sat down and ordered from her limited menu of teas. Our water and tea were provided, but there was no explanation of the teaware used, what made the tea special, nothing to engage us with the tea. The other table, occupied by two women and one man were served their tea differently. The man at the table was shown how to use his gaiwan, but there was no discussion of the tea. The ladies at that table received information about the teaware and their tea. She explained what made the tea special, but spoke directly to the women at the table. We were then basically ignored while she scrolled on her phone until she finally came to refill our water kettle (now dry from her lack of attention) and chided us for letting it boil dry. For $20 each, I expected a much better experience. I wanted to go home with some teas, but I just couldn't justify it. I'm terribly disappointed as I was looking forward to visiting here for weeks.Vegetarian options: There is no food served here.Wheelchair accessibility: This establishment is not wheelchair at all.

I was really excited to come here and get some chrysanthemum tea, but my experience left me never wanting to come back. We waited over 30 minutes to be sat and two groups of people who walked in after us were sat first. When we were finally attended to, we realized that the teas were incredibly expensive, and were told that sharing was not allowed. Even with this, we ordered our individual teas and decided to stay and try to enjoy ourselves. About 10 minutes after we received our tea, we were still chatting and sippingwhen a bill was placed on our table without a word from our server. She then proceeded to come back three times, not to ask how the tea was or check to see if we wanted something else, but to silently check to see if we had yet paid the bill (which hadn’t been moved from the spot where she had placed it). Overall I found the service to be very rude and passive aggressive, I’m not sure if we were uniquely being rushed because of our young age and race, because there were other tables who had been seated since we arrived who had not been bothered with a bill. We were quiet, paying customers who had waited like everyone else, and we were treated terribly. Spend your money elsewhere, I’ll be trying other tea houses in the area because my experience at this tea house was absolutely unacceptable.

I would spend every day of my life here if I could. Only thing I wish is that they had some small tea snacks so I could stay even longer.

Fantastic vibes and very good tea. Ching Ching offers up a super cozy and welcoming environment to tea enthusiasts and tea newbies alike. I highly recommend. She stocks a nice selection of teas. This is a must visit in DC! Come earlier in the day if you can, you'll be more likely to get a table quickly.

A great place for a calm afternoon. This isn’t a quick visit kind of place and there is no take out (also no food, only really high quality tea), you will sit and re-steep your small pot 5-10 times or until you’re tired of it. The owner will walk you through it, she’s great.

An absolute gem! They've moved from their Georgetown location to this new one and the ambiance remains. The service was top notch and the glassware was unique. For an experience that puts the tea front and center, look no further.

Can’t say enough good things about this tea room. So glad they made it through the pandemic and moved from crazy Georgetown to more approachable DuPont. I love their new space and will be frequenting it regularly. Note the new location does not serve food.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat and open floor plan. Restrooms large enough for wheelchairs.

+Large variety of teas, polite staff.- It could be a calm place to enjoy your tea, but people there, were talking so loud and it was a bit annoying.- It's a very small place, only 5 tables.- We were given the bill without asking for it and it looked as if they wanted us to leave. We didn't find it polite.- $20 is way too much for just one tea.- There is no food servedWouldn't recommend it.
