Couple of things ... The slicing of the brisket was just a bit much (more like chunks than slices) and the dryness of the meat was quite noticeable. The secondary space for a side looked quite sad all empty, the overall price more than justified making it happy. The beans were ok, the mac and cheese was better. Would have tried the pulled pork but I was already out $30. The seasoning on the brisket was definitely notable, as were the sauces.

The BBQ here is exceptional! You might think going to a BBQ spot would be all heavy meats but not the case here. The dish I had was their special grilled salmon burger with blueberry BBQ sauce, I cannot even begin to explain how delicious it was! As well as the smoked then fried wings. Probably the best wings in the city! They were also exceptionally hospitable in providing vegan options for a friend, and accommodating an 8 person walk-in party with little to no wait time. Just note the specials sell out quickly so I recommend going on the earlier side.
Vegetarian options: They were able to accommodate a friend who only eats vegan food, I wouldn't say they have a lot of options, but a couple of good choices despite being known for smoked meats.

Get the wings, get the wings. One last time... Get the wings. The wings at cinder are some of the best in memory. They are smoked and then fried. They are fantastic. It's hard for me to go past and not stop and get an order of the wings. The other food is great as well they had a specialty blueberry BBQ salmon sandwich when I went, it was also very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The outdoor seating is great on nice days just be aware of birds in the trees above. Oh yeah, get the wings.

Good bbq, not much of sauce options other than normal stuff. I am used to go to a place with lots of creative house made sauce options. Wish they had more choices for sophisticated customers like me when it comes with bbq restaurants =) overall good!

Best bbq in the DMV (and maybe Richmond too). The new summer menu is so fun and delicious. I had the deviled egg salad sandwich and it was a perfect size. Also had the fried pickles and they were the best I've ever had. Usually fried pickles are too greasy or wet but these were amazing. And the sauce served with it was such a good complement. And they've converted me to a coleslaw fan.

Worst barbecue I’ve ever had. Even tried to give it a second chance and ended up doubly disappointed. I’ve never had brisket this dry.

I was craving bbq and Mac and cheese. It was the disappointing and bland bbq ever. The meat portion was large, but it had no taste or smoked flavor. As for the alleged Mac and Cheese…I don’t know how anyone could serve something so awful. It was dry and had no cheese! I will never order barbecue in the DMV ever again. The greens were good. My meal reminded me of a school lunch for $45.

Tasty, small portions , yet a bit pricey.I had Had a brisket plate with fries. And the special of the day a trio of birria tacos. The brisket was lacking a smoke ring, but had great bark and flavor, definitely had that classic salt and pepper.Fresh cut fries salted properly. The trio of birria tacos were great. perfect meat , great cheese and the tortillas were nicely fried.Closer to Texas than Brooklyn.

Great BBQ! Autumn is an excellent server!!
Delicious brisket! Also loved the Mac and cheese and baked beans. A lot of barbecue places make soupy Mac and cheese, but not this place. They do it right. Also worth mentioning the terrific menu of whiskey options!I loved it. I plan to come back!
