I have loved City Lights since they had their Connecticut Ave location. My favorite is the Pork and hot peppers, mixed in with white rice = heaven.

Terrible food and taste. Cheap ingredients. Ordered Mu Shoo Pork for takeout and there was literally no meat and only a bunch of grass. Ordered from this place a couple years ago and had a terrible experience. Thought I gave another try but immediately regretted it after I saw the food.

Stop packing the sodas with the food. Have some common sense.

This is my go to Chinese take out spot in DC! Reasonably priced and good quality.

A solid takeout Chinese restaurant. My friend and I ordered City Lights of China for pickup on Christmas Eve. We split the steamed vegetarian dumplings and I ordered the Peking duck as my main dish. The vegetarian dumplings were extremely disappointing. While they were perfectly steamed, the dumplings were a bit too doughy and the filling was relatively tasteless. However, the Peking duck was fantastic. For $25, I got a great portion size that allowed for leftovers. The duck was very good-perfectly cooked with crispy skin, juicy meat, and a delicious plum dipping sauce. I would recommend City Lights of China for your next fast meal or if you want Chinese food.

We ordered in, but not being from DC, we didn't know who had really good Chinese food available for delivery Christmas Eve. We found City Lights of China on Yelp, read the reviews, and gave them a call. The restaurant had a limited menu for the holidays, so we're ordered the Crispy Beef, Green Beans, and Egg Drop Soup. It was delivered more quickly than expected and was delicious!

City Lights is solid. Reliable. Consistent. Exactly what you want. No fuss Chinese takeout. Classic dishes, some dim sum items too. While I'm sad they no longer have a full restaurant in Dupont Circle, the location in Adams Morgan is far more convenient for me. From Woodley Park, I can take a 20 minute walk to pick up, or order delivery which comes in less than an hour. I'm so glad they're still here.

Great Chinese takeout — nothing fancy. Been going here for years. The food is delicious, and the proportions are generous.

So this is a takeout only shop and I ordered via the touchscreen they have out front. The food came out pretty quick and was better than standard takeout fare but the portion was tiny compared to the price (even with the lunch special). As well I had to ask for someone three times at the order window to get my food which I could see just sitting on the counter. It isn't the worst choice for a "Chinese" fix but you could do better as well.

Defiantly a game changer. This literal hole in the wall spot has given me faith in chinese food again. The order method is simple, modern, cool. The service is fast. Most importantly the food is fresh, good qulaity, and well proportioned. I saw a decline in the quality of chinese food since the 90s similar to the decline of McDonalds since the 60s. This shop is actually putting forth effort and not carrying the attitude of, "these people wont know if its good or bad." The chicken is crispy and glazed. Not soft like it didnt get fried and its been sitting in the sauce for an hour. No dine-in just excellent fast chinese. Try It. fair prices too. They even do a $25 Peking duck I gotta try.

Order this meal while visiting DC from delivery service, so can't speak of the atmosphere or customer service. However, the food was well portioned and had wonderful flavor. The food was labeled and presented well. Pork dumplings and Chicken Chow Main.

City Lights was always my favorite for Chinese American cuisine, but this is the last time I order from them. The order took over an hour to deliver on a Tuesday night. The food is lackluster.
