Got a little lost trying to find the place, but was on foot walking over from Right Proper, nearby. Clearly, kiddo-friendly with plenty of video games and skee ball, but it was all adults at the machines this Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of picnic tables inside and outside for seating, but no real bar area is available for sitting. They had a sticker. Both the stout and the porter named after a The Verve song title were good.

My girlfriend took me to this place because is one of her favorites places in DC, and she is right, I really really enjoyed their beers, are delicious.

The best of people and the best of places.

The beer here is atrocious, they only offer 1 light beer/pilsner style, all beers have no bubbles (lines are stale and or dirty?) and kegs are flat as hell. For the price and location, there could be a lot more quality assurance going into the menu and the quality of delivery.

Clean, open space with large outdoor access on a deck overlooking the Metro Branch Trail. Beer is great and always a good variety available with good prices. They change up the food regularly as well with food trucks and pop-ups. The pinball, skeeball and claw machine games are the best part, after the outdoor access.

Good choice of beer, including our beloved peppercorn saison from 3 Stars. Great location with easy access to MBT and metro stop, fun arcade games for the kids while we were tasting ;-) Loved it!

City-state is one of a kind. I can’t say enough about the atmosphere and the beer is really well done. Come here, you will never be disappointed.

This place is located in the far corner of the city by the railway tracks. At night it’s very confusing to locate. However, the service here and the beer here is amazing. I do like their outdoor seating and they have games for the kids. Been here a few times and everytime had a great experience.

Great draft cocktails. Big patio to sit outside!

Great beer, atmosphere, and even better people. Christina and James went above and beyond to let us host my daughter's birthday at City State after we were rained out at our house. The kids had a blast and the space and drinks were just perfect. Check this place out if you haven't already!

Great atmosphere, the arcade games were fun to enjoy after some time biking the MBT, although they were out of my first and second choice of drinks, the beer I ended up getting was still great! Food truck was also tasty and very fast!

City State and thier staff (especially Cristina) were so helpful in reserving tables for a party. Their policy on this is very reasonable and makes it a great spot to bring a bunch of friends together. Not to mention the beer and arcade games are fun as well!
