Came over here because the service was terrible at the Root and Vine. Was not disappointed, service was great and food was good!

Wonderful experience!!! The staff were incredible! They accidentally did not charge us for 2 of our drinks and we let them know. They were so gracious and told us not to worry about it. Friendly, above and beyond.
Ordered pretzel with pimento cheese — delicious!

I don’t understand the poor reviews. In town for a week for work and did lunch once and dinner once. Great food. The Delhi Bowl and Shrimp Tacos were great. Nice beer selection for a beer snob like me from Portland. I highly recommend

Terrible all around. Super loud. Can’t talk to a human about the menu. Ordering from your phone is cumbersome. The whole point of going out to dinner is to is to spend quality time with friends. Instead you spend the first 30 minutes on your phone. THEN they expect a tip. For what? Walking 10 feet from the bar to the table?
I had the most humiliating experience at City Tap on August 16, 2025, around 1:30 PM during my lunch break. Upon entering, a bartender who claimed to be the supervisor (named Victoria) loudly told me I was banned from the restaurant for supposedly not tipping. Not only is this accusation completely false—I’ve visited City Tap multiple times and always tip—but even if I hadn’t, since when is tipping mandatory to enter a restaurant?
To make matters worse, she didn’t even know my name but still chose to confront me in front of others, escalating the situation by saying, “We can take it outside.” I’ve never felt more disrespected, embarrassed, or threatened in a public place.
As a government worker in this city, I expected professionalism and courtesy. Instead, I was publicly accused and targeted without any proof. I’ve requested all my receipts to match my bank records and plan to contact a civil attorney regarding this employee’s threatening behavior.
This experience was unacceptable, and I would not recommend anyone support a business that allows their staff to treat patrons in such a discriminatory and hostile manner.

Relaxed environment. Drinks are great and staff were extremely knowledgeable about the selection. Food was excellent, we had the Angus burger, shrimp tacos, BLT and salmon. Only suggestion would be to add some seasoning or sauce to the salmon. The rice was a little bland but we mixed the brussel sprout with to and it was great.

Yooo this food was amazing!!! Nachos are freaking to die for will get again. The beef dip Guinness was really good but my boyfriend liked it more. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was amazingggg!! Both sours were great too and they had good desserts and flights. This was their after dinner bites as we came late but wowww even that menu was heavenly. Reasonably priced with lots of really nice elevated bar food options. They do have tvs for whatever game is on and an area with music

My husband and I visit DC every July 4th. Our first stop—City Tap House on 9th. Vickie is always there and SHE REMEMBERS US!!! Today we were able to brag about her to her GM, Brian. We cannot say enough about City Tap House. The food and craft beers are awesome, but Vickie makes it extra special!!!

I had the delhi chicken bowl, it was very good. The flavors melded great. I'm not sure how to rate service, you order through an app, there is just someone that brings your food out.

We hosted a private reception here while at a conference and the food and service were excellent! Friendly staff and great to work with throughout the event planning process.
Seems a little expensive for the portion sizes. It was good though
