Other shops tend to miss the CRITICAL mark on creating a space conducive for working and studying. This place offers comfy seating with good background music just low enough to still take work calls. I feel like other customers understood that too.

What a gem!! This place is so cozy, great coffee, and good vibes all around. We walked in not knowing it’s new, and found the perfect cozy seating (and very comfortable), to have a nice warm drink and take a break from the rain.
Flat White and Lavender Latte were delicious! We will visit every time our travels bring us to DC!

Civic on the Eighth is a beautiful and truly unique café experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. Nalah, the barista, has such a warm and inviting presence—she makes you feel like family. The coffee is absolutely divine. The Blush Matcha Latte is a must-sip, especially when paired with one of their pistachio croissants. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Popped in for hot drinks and some pastry with a friend. The coffee and london fog were delicious and pastries were equally so. Not too loud inside to have a chat and the staff couldn’t have been nicer!

Came in around 11 on a Saturday, was decently busy but the line moved quick and there is tons of seating so I was easily able to get a seat. Ham and cheese croissant and jamaican patty were both decent, their espresso drinks are excellent. Looking forward to coming again in the future!
