Outstanding!! Claudio's is everything a restaurant should be. The food is the star of the show and doesn't remotely disappoint. Service was impeccable. Ambience is unassuming, quaint and cozy. For me hands down the best authentic Italian in all of DC.
Next Valentine's Day, consider trying Claudio's Table for dinner. Like the Red Hen, It's worth the drive. Unlike many excellent restaurants, Claudio's doesn't use the occasion to employ a fixed price menu; everything was a la carte, and happily, there was also a special Valentine's Day menu, which was fabulous. I hadn't eaten Jerusalem artichokes in decades and the squid ink pasta was as good as it gets; my wife enjoyed the steak. The wine choices...
Competently cooked Italian standard dishes. Risotto with mushrooms was properly al dente. Surprisingly, since the chef is Italian, there were a few misspellings of Italian words on the menu.
