Let's make one thing clear--I don't usually Yelp, but Cloak & Dagger deserves all the praise it can get. This venue is fantastic! Whether you're looking to turn it up or chill with friends, it's the perfect spot. After meeting Sonny, the owner, he invited me out for my birthday. Not only did he generously comp me a bottle of champagne, but he also partied with me all night. Sonny is down-to-earth and an all-around great guy. The bar and wait staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which isn't always the case in nightclub settings. I tipped my server $100, and now, thinking about it, I probably should have left more--she was fantastic. After two weeks on business in DC, I left feeling like the King of U Street! When I return to DC, Cloak & Dagger is a must for me. Keep doing your thing, Sonny. See you soon!

At around 1am Cloak & Dagger was totally dead. There were like 15 people tops. I cannot attribute the low pace solely to the venue. In general, U St. night life options look sad post-pandemic. I feel it's DC itself. Anyways, this place's sound system is like a C+, at best, poor clarity and lot of sound congestion. Also, the DJ on the Friday night I went was meh. Yet I've seen this business is highly rated, how?! Maybe it is good if you need to rent a venue, perhaps?

Before even stepping in to the building me, my cousin, and my wife were all told we were not allowed in. This is an establishment we have all never been to and were willing to pay the entry fee to. We were given no explanation, just "Sorry we cant let you guys in". Unacceptable and if I could give ZERO stars I would. We left feeling completely rejected even though their website states they want their atmosphere to feel all inclusive and welcoming to all.

We are here on 10/28/2023 and it's super cool atmosphere when you walking in with the vampire theme and fake bookshelf. Drinks are very well made. However the Dj can not mix songs. Like why! Is this your first day sir. Like I wanna come back but not if it's gonna be like this.
