I’ve tried them all. Elle, the Den, Emissary, Tatte, Buna, 1990s cappuccinos at the Willard. Gotta hand it to the Den at #2, also an excellent experience. But Doubles is #1.Best coffee in DC when they get it right. Get a latte “for here” in one of their thick ceramic mugs and sit out in the warm Spring air on their covered patio. What a way to spend a Sunday.

I was on a run out of town and got hungry, and asked a couple where I should go to grab a quick pastry and coffee. They suggested Doubles, and I went. They had exactly what I needed some good black drip coffee and a wonderful piece of coconut banana bread. I am not a huge coconut fan but I like it in moderation. This banana bread was so good! I might start adding a little coconut to my homemade recipe. The service was quick, easy and friendly. They have a small indoor area and an outdoor area as well. A great place to get some work done outside of the office.

What a sweet neighborhood spot Doubles is a Columbia Heights classic, with a long interior and neutral vibe. The workers are kind and friendly, even saw some masking (score). They make good coffee art, and have high quality drinks. I have not tried the alcohol there, but the draft system looks impressive. The place is clean and nice. The back garden is amazing- the heat lamps work so well! The tables are pretty wobbly and uncomfortable tho- the vibe in the backyard is giving cafeteria in a not awesome way. Overall, great to set up shop for a study sesh or a book club. There should be some chairs with backs for accessibility, and some hooks on the wall for coats would go a long way.

None of the wifi I tried worked and the employees were not attentive. They were talking a lot among themselves and they didn't even hear me. The taste of the coffee was average. Definitely not the place I would go to study/work

Doubles is my favorite coffee shop in DC. I think coffee here is great -- it's not over-roasted & bitter as coffee sold in some places (excessively roasted coffee indicates bad quality coffee, which commonly leads to stomach problems!). I've been greeted by my name and I'll likely add it to my dissertation acknowledgements. Try their cortado!

This place is great, very cute coffee shop. However, the amount of homeless people they’re enabling is what’s wrong today. I watched the girl working give out multiple free drinks/breakfast sandwiches to homeless people that then wandered around and stood over people trying to work. Totally understand helping out but you can’t operate a place like this. Multiple homeless people sitting in the stairs blocking the second floor and asking for money. I encourage the owner to change this pattern if you want to keep this place nice.

Doubles is one of my fave coffee shops in DC so far - comfy, good coffee, and even have a big outdoor area which is great for covid cautious folks like me!

I stumbled across this spot on a rainy morning and was so delighted. I ordered a mocha latte and a Love sandwich with added arugula. Delish! And the huge back patio promises to be a spot for a return visit to the sister pizzeria.

I am so grateful to have Doubles as a neighborhood coffee shop. The lavender mint lattes and spacious patio always cheer me up and the wifi helps me meet my productivity goals. I'm also deeply grateful to the staff who treat paying customers graciously in addition to what seems like institutional compassion for our potentially less fortunate/stable neighbors. If I purchase a snack for a hungry neighbor, I have often witnessed staff giving them more and never rushing out patrons who may be dealing with a difficult hand in life. Because of this compassionate attitude that I see on a regular basis, I will always happily spend more at Doubles!

Didn’t try the food here but the coffee was decent .. they have the fruity undertones which I personally am not a fan of but they do make a decent cup of coffee and it’s a cute spot and the service was great !

Nice spot that allows dogs inside during ordering. Very nice if your taking your dog out so you can pop in. Plenty of space to camp with a laptop to.Coffee is quite good too!

My favorite coffee shop in DC. Everything from their cold brew, dirty chai, and matcha lattes - everything is always fantastic. A warm neighborly vibe in a hip urban setting.:)
