The coffee is good. The food is mediocre. The atmosphere is not good; decoration, styling, furniture, music, and acoustics are all left wanting. The walls, chairs, and cabinets in here look like nobody has wiped them down in months, very dirty. I would not sit in here comfortably for any period of time. But the coffee is good.

This location is great. Fast, well-made coffees, clean restrooms and plenty of seating. I wish the employees here could teach the people at my “home” location (435 11th) a thing or two! It’s like they don’t even belong to the same company.
Caden, the manager at Compass Coffee on H Street/18th (and another location) is that kind random stranger I needed on a day/week where I was searching for a warm smile; just to connect with someone, if only briefly.
Thanks for brewing me the dark roast, the friendly chat and making my difficult day brighter.
