10/10. Went for our anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Beautiful, understated atmosphere. Did the chefs tasting menu and every bite was perfect. Squash soup, tuna tartare, and ocean trout were our favorites. Left stuffed and happy. Easy walk from red line metro too.

One of the tastiest meals I’ve had in DC. The panko crusted pork was the best I’ve ever had. The salmon dish we had at the time (this was awhile ago) was cooked flawlessly and mouthwateringly seasoned. Service was a little slow but at least they kept bringing us bread for free while we waited. Very elegant interior, very hushed atmosphere, beautiful decor. I’m going to go back to try the chefs menu soon!

The $85 chef's menu recently at Corduroy was the perfect choice for a special occasion dinner with friends. The menu includes an amuse bouche, fish courses, meat courses and dessert. Each presentation had finesse but two standouts were the pan seared ocean trout that was brackish, sweet and buttery and the crispy panko pork that was delicate and juicy, simply seasoned to allow the meat to be the star. A variety of flawless desserts which ranged from sorbets to a chocolate torte, was the perfect end to a birthday celebration. The dining room was quiet and modern and the service was professional and unobtrusive. The wine list is outstanding with ample wines by the glass to match the menu.Chef Power's accomplished cuisine reminded me of what fine dining used to be before the DC takeover of celebrity chefs and fast casual establishments, masquerading as fine dining!

The 5 course chef’s tasting menu is a phenomenal deal (really 6 courses including dessert)! We came with a group of 5 and left absolutely stuffed. They were also very accommodating of dietary restrictions. My favorite part of the meal was that they brought us 5 different desserts to share.

My wife and I were looking forward to dining here while visiting DC. We were very very disappointed. To start…the wine glass on the table was filthy. The ordered drinks came 5 minutes apart. The appetizers came 10 minutes apart. The empty app plates sat for 15 minutes while the staff chatted around the corner. We then sat for 35 minutes without our entrees in sight. We gave up and asked for the check without getting our food. The one thing they did right…they did comp the apps and drinks but we will never return. There are too many great restaurants in DC.

They are usually not open on Sundays, but fortunately there was a private party going on and they accepted other customers like myself for a Sunday dinner. As is clear from the menu, there is a Japanese influence like sushi rice, hijiki, tonkatsu, and kombu. Before the appetizer, they gave me a complementary corn soup. I could taste a delicate amount of spice, which made the corn soup quite refreshing but not spicy.I had Local Heirloom Tomato Salad for the appetizer. It consisted of soft peeled tomatoes, arugula, and Italian dressing. All ingredients were very fresh and tasty. Then I had Pepperred Rare Tuna with Hijiki and Sushi Rice for the entree. The outside of tuna was seared like tataki. It came with a ceviche-like sauce and the hijiki veggie that made it feel like a rightful translation of Japanese maguro don (tuna on rice) into a creative new American dish. The seasoning could have been slightly blander for me, but I would still be happy to recommend it to anybody. The dessert was the Baked Chocolate “Sabayon”. It is an Italian dessert and is like a chocolate soufflé topped with chocolate ice cream and caramel cookies. It takes 20 min to cook but it’s worth it for anyone who loves chocolate. The check comes with an automatic 23% gratuity on the before-tax bill (with the 10% DC food and beverage tax, it’s 1.33 times the listed price). I would totally come back to try more items on the menu.

Very wonderful experience at Corduroy, the staff was very attentive and great, especially Byron! Definitely will be coming back next time we are in town. Tried the chef’s surprise tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Also very accommodating to any dietary restrictions.

I wanted to try the 5 course meal and the waitress said I can't order it because it was too much work for the chef to do it for only one person in the table [we were 4 in the table], I insisted I wanted to try it and he was NO, I WON'T ASK THE CHEF, He didn't even made the effort to go and ask, it's my first time in this restaurant but if you have something in the menu and you don't want to serve it? Why put it? Put a rule that everyone has to order it in the table, then it would make sense, I decided not to order food because it's something that leaves a bad taste in you and a very poor experience, I would not recommend the place neither come back in my life till they fix the training of the staff or the orders of the chef. They refused to give me a meal which was the most expensive in the menu because he was too lazy to do it for one person, seriously? Makes no sense to me, you have to make your costumers happy so they come back. I wish them luck in their business but a restaurant like this should not operate in this way.
