Not a very accommodating place. I was asked to verify my clearly marked service dog, was a service dog. Some rehearsed drivel about " in case a customer should ask". He clearly didn't want me there. After the second time, I won't go back. This is expressly illegal under the Federal ADA. You are only a block from Le Pain Quotidian, go there for a better sandwich.
Very new style of food to me but I was not disappointed at all I'm glad I tried this
I was walking by and remembered that I had a rewards coupon from COSI for a sandwich except the cashier kept insisting on selling me a large, saying that the coupon was on a large when I was looking at the email that said nothing of the sort. She would ring it up, step away and then come back and continue asking me about additional items like chips or drink as if I'd forget that it was still a large that she hadn't changed. It took three times of this and a growing line before she had someone else come take my order. Despite the fact that it was a "warm sandwich" my TBM was cold. The M literally means melt. On top of this all the tables are smushed together and you can't get to the bar to sit without inconveniencing people seated at tables. After all of that, the wifi didn't work - it connects but there's no internet. If they hadn't advertised free wifi I would have just gone to the Starbucks on the same block since I really needed to get work done before a conference call. My go to place in this area had always been the Au Bon Pain that used to be across the street. Fortunately with Newseum closing, I'll have no reason to be near this Cosi again. If I am, I'll walk the extra distance to 7th Street. It shouldn't be this difficult and everything about this experience was difficult. Only reason I gave two stars instead of one is the person who ultimately took my order was nice and the person making the sandwich gave me extra balsamic vinegarette when I asked for it. And the bathroom thing from other reviews, that's pathetic in a restaurant that you won't let people wash their hands before they get their food. Why this location is still open and much better locations have closed is beyond me.
NOTE: the self ordering thing they have does not work!! Please order in person!! We and others after us waited too long only to realize that the order had never made it through! Besides that, the place is an average cafe. Decent food. The manager was nice and offered us free baked goods as an apology!
My go-to for a quick bite whenever I'm near the Capital. Wish we had more Cosi shops around. The hummus and veggie on flat bread is fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly.
Terrific coffee; tasted great, nice and hot. Teaira was wonderful. She took our order in person, did not direct us to the automated station. She was pleasant and professional. Accommodated my husband's special request for his sandwich. Was apologetic when the bathroom lock battery died and wouldn't unlock for me. It was fixed very quickly. She went out of her way to let me know when it was again functioning. I highly recommend this place.
Ordered one mini sandwich and it took 10 minutes to come out with no one else in the restaurant. Turkey cheddar melt had a sauce that tasted like nail polish. Bathrooms were also not clean.
Service was slow, waited almost 5 minutes for someone to take our order. The breakfast sandwich I had was cold in the middle, either the eggs or meat were frozen. Didn't taste fresh. Probably won't go back
My husband and I shared a quick roast beef club there while visiting some Smithsonian Museums. I loved the bread, it was crisp on the outside and soft inside. It was thin and didn't had 100s of carbs to the sandwich. We'd eat here again.
Always great for a healthy lunch. Like their chose two option.

Skip this location. Cosi is down the street from Potbelly's, Jack's Deli and Delizique. All are better choices for lunch. This review is for the second of two bad experiences there. I ordered a roast beef and cheddar at 3:30 p.m. yesterday in an almost empty store. The sandwich ingredients were so meager that the bread fully covered the ingredients. It was cold; it contained three small half squares of cheddar, a thin layer of roast beef, no horseradish sauce and a little lettuce (arugula). I brought the entire order to the manager's attention. She was nice, but her solution was to heat it up. There were hardly any ingredients. She should have re-made the sandwich. I reached out to Cosi corporate last night to get a refund by emailing them and calling them. I have heard nothing back on my requests. I am out $12.40 for the sandwich and a can of soda.
I wish they'd list the full details of menu items. Their ordering is all automated, and when ordering a sandwich, you don't know if there's mustard, Mayo, etc on any given item. Not a fan of surprises that way. Good food, friendly and efficient staff!
Good tasty food. Healthy options. Kids menue. Normal prices. Good service and great location. Few minutes walk from the National Gallery of Art.
Friendly and fast service. Restrooms are in pretty rough shape (no hooks to hang bags and the first restroom was competely out of tissue.) upon leaving the restroom I was greeted by a cockroach. Might be an off day but the experience was less than optimal.
Service and people were wonderful. Food was great and the establishment was clean.
