The customer service was really good! However the food was not good at all, except for the doubles, those were amazing! I got jerk chicken meal and goat meal and it was not flavorful at all……it actually didn’t taste like any seasoning was present. The jerk was extremely plain and the sauce very thin. I spent $75 for two meals, two doubles, and two drinks….i was very disappointed when I tasted the food. It tasted like the food was not fresh either.

Bought a goat meal with rice and plantains at 1 pm and paid $21 for the meal. I have known the owners for 20 years and they were both present. This is not fine dining or sit down? Food was good but not worth the experience or money!!!
At the price point I could have done better elsewhere. Why do ethnic places feel they can over charge?
Delicious chicken curry, deeply flavourful, and absolutely delightful paired with the flaky busshup shut roti. Serving sizes are generous (one curry and one roti was enough for two people with a moderate appetite, and for another meal). It was quite heavy, so definitely more of a lunch spot.
The coconut roll has a pleasing caramelized taste, and is not too sweet.
There’s seating upstairs, but most folks seemed to be picking up food to go.
Will definitely be back!

We travel from Baltimore to experience and enjoy the flavor of Crown Bakery. Jennifer and Trevor are hard working and good people that love what they do

They have a good variety of offers
I gave it two stars because the roti is decent. But doesn't compare to food back home in Brooklyn. I didn't taste any seasoning. Since it's a Trinidadian restaurant, I expected flavor, portions and options. Where is the tamarind sauce or pepper sauce on the side - something.... definitely wasn't worth the price. I've been searching for authenticity in DC; but disappointed every time.
Kind service and delicious food and great options as a vegetarian.

The restaurant itself is a bit old but clean.
Customer service started out questionable as we waited a full 5 minutes before someone came out from the back to attend to us, even though we called out several times.
The woman that came out was nice enough and gave some good sized portions of curry with buss up shut.
We also got some coconut bake and drops with a couple drinks.
The coconut drops and bake lacked coconut though and the curry was ok but lacked flavour which is a complaint we’ve heard from quite a few islanders regarding Caribbean food in the DMV.
They have an upstairs seating area but it was closed off and we were also a bit hesitant to leave our vehicle parked for any extended period of time, thus the choice to order take out.
There are a few other Caribbean places around so we will def explore options.

I've been going to Crown Bakery since it first opened over 20 years ago. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere has a true Caribbean vibe. The baked goods and street food is authentic Trini food. It's always a pleasure to visit.

Refuses to take accountability for a “hack” causing a loss of a wedding catering deposit. Unprofessional and not worth the fuss on the back end. Unreliable for large scale events.
Just ordered pasties and buss up and patties, drinks and snacks. The food looked like it was finishing so didnt get any and the buss up was dry not flaky/not enough butter. The beef patties are not good but the cheese pastry is.

Great Authentic Trini bread, food, pastries and drinks. Love everything. I live far away but go at least once per month to pick up my goodies: 2 butter bread, 2 currants roll, 2 slices of cassava pone, 3+ beef patties, 3+ aloo pies, 3+ doubles with all the fixings, etc. Trevor and his wife are great hostesses and the staff are friendly and hospitable.
